Fun, witty, good value
Saw this on the summer sale and thought I'd give it a try, glad I did. A fun shooter with good graphics, nice soundtrack, excellent controls, and a quick witty story. If you enjoy shooters, or are just looking to try something different like I was, I'd recommend this title for good old arcade fun.

Disappointing...
I'd hoped for possibly an upgraded shooter, like Tyrian or the Gradius series, or even something more interesting, like Freelancer. This game, unfortunately, is a real disappointment. The story is dull, and even the easiest difficulty is far from casual. You're stuck with a 'story' not deserving of the name, despite all the advertised 'customization', I've seen none of that, forced every mission into a specified ship, no freedom at all. I had high hopes that this would begin a shooter renaissance, guess I'll just keep looking...
