Quite enjoyed my time in its world
One of the first of these Myst-style first-person adventure games, before Myst itself actually. And this was a good one I thought. It uses FMV quite competently, not just as a gimmick. And the world is quirky with some hamfisted actors.. I mean characters. Basically, you'll have a laugh and a sense of adventure throughout it.

Meet the better alternative to Myst
I remember back in the early 90's when Myst came along and it was considered a revolution in gaming, and in some ways it was - although I found it rather dull. I tried to like it but it never got the blood flowing. Fortunately I soon came across Return To Zork and that all changed. Maybe it's unfair to compare the two games since Zork has many more options for interactivity, more creative puzzles, people to talk to, better graphics and a great (albeit dark) sense of humor. I didn't get all of the subtle jokes as a kid but I enjoyed every minute of the game. The only thing I didn't like about this is that after PCs kept upgrading, the game wouldn't install on the new platforms so I wasn't able to play it - until now. Thanks GOG!

Quirky and faithful
While I have never played the original games i have done research on them. What I found was a great series of games that captured the imagination of those who played them and so it was with the return to Work. Yes games like this with their motion captured acters have not aged well. It just so happens that this game has a great story that keeps the failure moments of the originals intact. So play this if you are a kings quest and Myst fan.
