Not bad, 4 overtested patients

Ok, so that's not a bad game, especially given the uniqueness, but it had so many tiny problems, that it starts to kinda hurt after a while. So, that's a building/management game, but base game doesn't have a lot of building/furniture options, and there is no maintenance for cars or equipment. And management is not exactly deep enough - you don't see how much experience is required for level-up of staff, how exactly it affects things, how exactly anything affects progress, if at all. Sequence of orders for everyone is not defined anywhere, as well as reasons for any decision - for example, my surgeons used surgery on another floor, instead of one that was available on theirs. Flexibility of personal management is not great either - just a set of roles and shift, without specifying rooms, for example, can't make staff occupy two departments in single shift if they are idle. Interactions with patients are also not always great - you don't see history of their interactions, what and where affected them, who did incorrect diagnosis, you're unable to prioritise care for critical patients manually or order their transfer to anther bed when rebuilding. Patients I've seen so far don't vomit, bleed (unless brought in ambulance), piss, defecate on floors, they don't steal anything, don't fight. That actually looks like a great mobile game, sorta. It's not bad, just be aware of what to expect.

Middling, AKA Meh

This is… interesting, but the UI and the graphics leave a lot to be desired. Some might be fixed, some might not. Biggest problem with the UI and the graphics (graphics are a part of the UI) is… it's too flat for an isometric view with exactly four angles. Easy to hit the wrong spot (or, what I just had happen, extend the wrong "foundation" (you need a "foundation" for each floor)). This "minor" bit makes it so frustrating to unplayable (combined with the abysmal "undo" that is very limited and is only one level deep). So, nothing minor about it. I like the idea, the concept, the realism… but the actual implementation, as said, is still woefully lacking. Cannot recommend at this stage.

Technically okay

Some reviewers praise this game for its realism and even claim to have learned something about human medicine by playing it. That seems dangerous to me, as this game is not a realistic representation of medical conditions and the diagnostic process. It does not even get the relation between diagnosis and symptoms right. The good old “Theme Hospital” played it safe by making the game about made up medical conditions. Nevertheless it is a decent economic simulation that can be fun. Definitely playable and stable, but UI und graphics are subpar. Btw: Doctors are not necessarily physicians and not all physicians are doctors.

A realistic and janky hospital simulator

I'll start out by saying that I was pretty astonished by how negative the initial reviews here are of this game, often just harping on a few specific flaws and slamming it with one star without even the pretense of nuance or, you know, actually telling people how the game plays which might actually give them an idea of whether or not they might like the game. This is really par for the course for most user reviews, and I won't deny that for quite a few people the flaws (and the premise) of this game will be an instant turn-off, but in this case I think the reviews really do a disservice to any potential players and to what I have found to be - despite its flaws - a really unique and detailed hospital simulator. I'll start with the bad. This game has: - no rebindable keys (though I can't recall ever using any keybinds to begin with) - a very limited options menu - a buggy (but completeable) tutorial - very few missions - no camera rotation - a bad ui - a limited soundtrack - an occasionally frustrating ai which doesn't respond quickly to player input - a pretty slow pace and, later on once you've figured the game out - not a whole lot of challenge or variety So with all these flaws, why in the world am I giving it four stars? Because I've played it for several days now and still want more. While this isn't the first hospital simulator ever made, or even the first recent one, it is definitely the first one I've seen with this level of authenticity, flexibility of playstyle, and attention to detail. Unlike, say, Theme Hospital all of the conditions, symptoms, and medical procedures are based on reality and rendered in excruciating detail, and the game makes a big deal out of letting you engage with all these things yourself if you want, or ignore them if you don't. The game really is a hospital SIMULATOR, and like many simulators it is janky as shit. Turns out that is exactly what I want, and if that's what you want as well, then check it out.
