Back to basics
I've played Port Royale 3 for a while but wanted to try out the original. It does not disappoint. i guess you'd call it 'good bones'. I see why this is everyone's favorite.

Love this franchise, but...
Got this out of nostalgia, have enjoyed all iterations of this franchise (well, except the latest...) but with a Win 10 gaming laptop it CTD's every time I go to the battle screen. PR 2 seems more stable.

just to try it
i was looking out for Patrizier, DIe Gilde, Fugger, Die Hanse etc...found this one too...just checked it out...truely i'm more into those other games & i think patrizier 3 is a bit better (graphics, gameplay etc) ...but still it's a good alternative... it's a nice add-on for my 2 lil i4770/i4790 4gb gpu 8/16gb ram win10 pc's; on them i play older pc (90's - early2010's)/dos/amiga-emu games...still looking out for older cheap games on sale...

I bought this after playing Port Royale 2. This was so good i had to buy 1. Enjoyed 2 so 1 was to be a better expected game.
