Pathologic 2 is a narrative-driven dramatic thriller about fighting a deadly outbreak in a secluded rural town. The town is dying. Face the realities of a collapsing society as you make difficult choices in seemingly lose-lose situations. The plague isn’t just a disease. You can’t save everyone.
The plague is devouring the town. The chief local healer is dead, and you are now to take his place. You’ll have to look for unexpected allies. The local kids are hiding something. Try playing by their rules.

Brilliant, in every sense of the word.
However, the game is vile and mean and to play it is to push through hardship, loss, and adversity. Pathologic 2 will happily break you over its knee and laugh at your pains. This is is why the game is so very satisfying to triumph against, and also why I find myself hesitant to recommend to others.

Painfull Perfection
Pathologic is a remake... well a sequel... well it's own take on the concept of the original game, a meta-narrative nod that shows us how much the game industry have progressed and finding new ways to introduce an anxiety indusing horror into reality. Fixing a lot of the harder edges of the first game it creates new parts to generate friction to the player, with systems over sytems on top of eachother draining your time, health and sanity, all of this to add weight to the world giving us one of the most interesting tales of all time in a way that is only possible in this medium. Pathologic 2 isn't a fun game, is a great great game, a unique piece of art that showcases the peak of horror and survival gameplay, being the only videogame that reached to me giving me actual dread and fear.
