This the golden raspberry of modern crpgs in all possible categories: writing, game design, interface. Somehow this game is worse than Pathfinder Kingmaker in every way, including UI. 75% of this game past act I is just padding. Not everyone enjoys the resting mechanics but at least in Kingmaker the UI for it was clean, elegant and simple to use. They managed to destroy even that and now the UI for resting feels like a pre-alpha mess. The amount of reading in the game is comparable to War and Peace but they succeeded in making the font less legible than in Kingmaker so if your eysight is not 100% perfect you will get a headache after trying to read nonsensical walls of text for more than 30 minutes. And the writing and the wokeness, oh man, where do I even start. This is the first cRPG ever for me where the majority of companions were so cringe inducing that I literally killed off 50% of them right off the bat when I first met them and regretted not doing it for the rest (not that they allow you to do that in every case mind you). Fortunately the game allows you to hire mercenaries. This and and a mod called Toy Box is what saves the game from being 1 star only. The companions are either psychopaths, psychopaths with a twist, whiners, homosexuals, bisexuals ot antifa activists. I restarted Kingmaker and even Amiri now seems like a breath of fresh air. And wokeness, oh man, they hit the stratosphere, it is like it was written by Twitter executives right before the purge. In the first 30 minutes of the game you are forcibly introduced to a lesbian couple in the middle of a fight ("meet my wife") - not that I asked anyone for their marital status mind you. Later on this very couple becomes your PERMANENT and most trusted advisors for the ENTIRE game and you have ZERO say in this. Remember how in Kingmaker you had cards representing your companions and other characters and you used them to fill the advisor roles? Nope no choice here. Save your money.

Just 2 Month after Kingmaker

I am able to play already the second Pathfinder. So my memory is very recent and I compare it to Kingmaker. (Of course I have not finished Wrath of the Righteous yet) the good: + RTWP !!! + RoundBased (Hello BG3 and Larian, look here how its done right) + graphics are improved and the mood is awesome + Sound and Music one of its kind, absolute perfect and it gets better after Act 1 + runs for an rpg very good on a mid - low system (Ryzen3600x+1060+32GBRam, 2k, everything on high) (also Macbook Pro M1 16GB Ram-> Full HD everything on high) + no bugs no crashes after 28hours on both systems + very polished game for its insane complexty + Story took a while to catch me, I liked the Kingmaker campaign a lot more to be honest at least until now + Pets and Horses and very diverse NPCs (I think thats a big plus) + One Quest in general when you come to Drizen is probably the best I have seen in any RPG, congrats Devs that really was an EPIC ride. + Voice Acting top notch + difficutly settings straight from heaven, you can customize everything + Heros of Might and Magic Mode so the Kingdome Management is less frustrating the medium: - camera rotation can be quite a task (and not a fun one) - some weather effects specially the Bilzzards are over the top (you dont see anything anymore) - to much classes and arche type classes (I dont think thats a plus) - not enough character styles, only 3 - 4 choices for head, hairstyle etc - the mounts are to big very often (I think thats an unity engine problem) - I liked the companions much more in Kingmaker, the idea with Linzy writing the story was fabolous (even lots of people did not like her) the negativ: * nothing really, no game breaking bugs so far for me * no crashes just the Macbook Pro gets super hot very fast * its not complete voiced wich I find sad because, what is voiced is really great Its in my opinion the best RPG Game at the Moment after Kingmaker, wich is not bad ;)

Weird and Expensive.

Over the course of the 20 or so hours I played this game I was hoping to find two human male knights/warriors to join me as followers. I wanted a 3 man team of brutal warriors. Instead I got a bunch of girls and freaks. The first characters you run into are 3 women. An archer, a sorcerer and a Knight. Sir "Selah" was the only character I marginally liked. Then I run into two complete freaks of nature, one that is half-dragon and another that is a cat-spider abomination. I wanted to kill these things on sight. The game pretended as though killing them was an option. But the game doesn't let you actually fight them if you try to. Instead the game forces you to work with them. I guess I should be more inclusive towards demonic hybrid creatures in a game that is supposedly about killing demons. Sometime later I come across with a knight in cool golden armour. Unfortunatly this character was a female Orc-Lesbian-Knight. And for some reason the game really wants you to know that right off the bat. This weirdo will be your new boss for a while. After many hours I found a few other characters, a witchy elven girl and yet another freak. Somekind of male Satyr that is locked in a cage. I left the weirdo in the cage where he belongs. I tried to get a male dwarf to join me, but he wouldn't. Was even going to settle for a male archer but he wouldn't join me either. The game wants you to exclusivly work with women and/or freaks. You essentially have to team up with demonic creatures in a crusade against demonic creatures. It's just very stupid. All I wanted were a few human male companions to fight along side me and go about hunting demons. But I suppose I was asking for too much.

Not Ready for Launch

Pre Order items, Kickstarter items, Commander/Mythic items do not appear in inventory even after downloading them from the "extra" section separately and restarting the game three times and starting a fresh character following the download. Same incredibly annoying inanities from Kingmaker carried over such as tedious combat lasting in excess of fifteen rounds (trying out the new turn based option) against a single opponent where RNG refuses to land a hit for either side (playing on core) -be prepared to carry your incompetent party through combat btw. There are all new ones as well, like 30 target number perception checks to open a door. . .at level 2. . .maybe a half hour into the game in the third area you arrive at after the prologue. I don't even know if I want to continue. So glad I popped for the mythic version to have the DLCs taken care of in advance.
