Excellent game, don't expect it to be compatible with modern o/s though, despite the fact that this site claims it is such, unless you want to do a hokey-pokey melange of work-arounds to get it passably running. avoid purchasing this in my opinion

Disapppointed with GOG
Never played this, only 1, 3, and 3SE. Unfortunately, as others have noted, its not compatible with Win 7, even though GOG claims it is, Thanks for taking my $10 for nothing, GOG. Sheesh.

Where is Panzer General 1? I had 2 and 3, but never cared for either like the original. It seems, and I am no computer guy, that making the original compatible for newer operating systems should be relatively easy by comparison. Yes, the graphics were cheesy. Yes, it is a bit cumbersome. But for the authenticity and the feel of extended scenario/campaign play, there is nothing better. Please, one of you computer guys, BRING PANZER GENERAL 1 UP TO DATE!

great game but WIN 7 cant play it
when this game first came out i fell in love with, then Vista came along and limited my play time with it. Windows 7 was born and said $%^& u to all the good-ol PC games. Downloaded this game and still cant play one of my favorite games. any advise would be great.
