Engineering Fun
The puzzles of Opus Magnum are something I've never quite played before. It asks of you to simply solve the puzzle in whatever way you see fit, and the difficulty of the puzzle isn't so much what the game asks of you, but what you ask of yourself. It tickles the engineering side of my brain. Once I've found a solution, I see potential for improving the design that lead me there, and I gradually iterate until I find a solution I'm happy with for the time being. The game smartly gives you multiple metrics to optimise for. It's not too hard to optimise for one metric, but optimising for two or more, that's where the challenge ramps up. I've still a lot of puzzles left, which I'm looking forward to solve and then refine the solutions for.

Fun, but frustrating
Here it is 2025, and I'm still thinking about this game from 2017. That's how catchy the puzzle loop is. Even after you solve the puzzle, you can still tinker with ways to make it smaller, faster, or cheaper. Frustrating- I'm very bad at spatial reasoning, so I can't imagine how the machine will work, I have to run it and watch. The game could make that a bit easier.

Chill Puzzle Game
Fun game where you try to solve the puzzles with various mechanical things. Game doesn't try to rush you or make you be ultra-efficiant to complete the tasks.

Nice Spacechem sequel
Plot is a bit more annoying (not the actual plot -- the existance of a plot; in SC I clicked through it, and still don't know what it was about). The game itself is simpler (no assembly line, fewer elements -- but more complex transformations). Also, lacks 'educational' part. Individual puzzles are more complex than individual reactors. But they're way simpler than entire assembly line. Also, best part of the game is Sigmar's Garden (definitely waiting for Sigmar's Garden mobile).
