In “Only Lead Can Stop Them” you take on the role as a soldier during the Spanish Civil war, fighting to defend the republic from being crushed by opposing fascist forces.
Over the span of your adventure, you will explore three epic campaigns with a total of 30 levels packed full of dangers and secrets to be discovered. Explore ancient castles, catacombs, muddy trenches, dense forests and combat zones of a war torn battlefield, whilst earning medals along the way for your heroic deeds!
Blast your way through fast-paced levels using your powerful arsenal of ten weapons, including machine guns, explosives, shotguns, pistols and rifles. Fight with purpose! Free your fellow comrades and unravel the fascists' path of destruction.
Only Lead Can Stop Them” takes stylistic influence from classic 90s shooters , featuring detailed environments and enemies rendered in pixel art as well as an uncompromising, break neck, fast paced style of gameplay.
The game features over a dozen distinct enemy types to fight. Whilst many of your enemies will be equipped with firearms, you will also battle strange supernatural occult forces capable of blasting you to pieces!

They are not trying to be coy about the similarities, they are clearly paying tribute to a number of early shooters, and if you don't have the capacity to appreciate that, and particularly if you didn't even buy it, don't leave negative feedback.

Shoot falangist with an Astra
Spanish civil war wolfenstein 3D Cute boomer shooter that pays tribute to pre-doom fps games, clearly wolfenstein 3D. Mind this because inspiration come from very early shooters, so some mechanics can seem too basic if you don't understand what's aiming for. Setting it's a breath of fresh air from always the same WW2 topic. It always bothered me that all fascist-killing games were about germans. What about the rest? Europe was not short of fascist movements from 1920s to 1940s. In this one you fight as a republican guerrilla fighter against Franco's traitors. Fun indie game.

Paying tribute to the granddaddies.
Man does this FPS bring back some memories, I dont want to date myself too much....But when I was in the 1st grade a buddy's oldest brother was a student at UW and got a hold of an original stack of shareware disks of Wolfenstien 3d and brough them home one Christmas. Me and my buddies played that game till our eyes bled. Fastforward 30+ years later and I find this little gem. Brought me right back. Graphically, it is almost identical to your original Wolfenstien/DOOM games of those days. Although the color scheme is a little skewed for I assume artisit reasons but overall it flows great on modern systems and using WSDA and a mouse control set up. It very much shows and flows like those original boomer shooters that so many of use grew up on and never told our parents about. The game plays well too. It does stream really flawlessly and plays incredibly smoothly. Granted it is built around a game style that is 30 years old now, but its still is just a fun game to sit and play for a half hour or an hour. I end up doing a level or two during my lunch break on my laptop and it works great. The story is an intersting one also, set right at the Spanish Civil War it explores (in a sci-fi way) a part of world history that is often over looked and ignored so it's a nice change of pace considering that so many things are set in WWII. Plus who doesn't like smoke checking facists and monster! Overall, if you remember being in school when Wolfenstien and Doom made a presence in the gaming world or you just want to see what games were like in the yesterday of early PCing, I can't recommend this game enough, it is a real blast!

Great game
Finally another cool 90s retro shooter. I really like the graphics, sound, weapons and gameplay. Some gamers have problems with the controls, but for me the controls work perfectly. What I particularly like is free save and no dash. A true boomer shooter shouldn't have a dash. For me, story is rather secondary in a shooter. Brutal Doom is the best “boomer” shooter of all time. Thank you Warcry Interactive / Retrovibes for the great game and publishing on GOG.
