A Game you gonna miss

I never played a puzzle game before but this cought my attention instantly. The game starts off slowly. Exploring makes so much fun that you will find hints easily. After i knew the layout of the first world, it was easy to navigate through something you will find after some time into the game. ;) The puzzles can sometimes seem hard at first but are usually solved very quick. There was only one world (i won't count that other one ;) ) which doesn't quite have the variation in puzzles i would have liked (got too easy). I have to say something bad about the technical side of the game though. It just keeps crashing. The points where it crashes are random. It was quite annoying but i still was able to complete the game without any bigger issues. Autosave is deffinitely needed. ^^ To end this: I loved playing it. Obduction is a game you gonna enjoy for sure. I just wished it had a bit more content (but it's only 30€, so that's fine).

Beyond anything I could have hoped for

I love adventure games, but never really enjoyed the modern "your choices matter" story-based adventure games, or the puzzle games masquerading as adventure games. Obduction isn't like that. It's almost pure adventure. You're continuously finding new stuff and unlocking new areas, and the game just keeps growing and growing the more you play it. It's an absolute delight that feels like it will never end. If you haven't played any Myst games but you like adventure games, you're in for a unique and amazing experience like nothing you've ever felt before. If you have played the Myst games, I can assure you that Obduction is a worthy spiritual successor. Even though I adore Uru and I see it through my nostalgia goggles as one of the best games of all time, I feel Obduction has surpassed it.

Brilliant

I've been in love with the Myst games since I was a kid and I was so excited for this. It did not disappoint me. It retained the feeling of complete unknown-ness and really challenged me, but not to the point where I was crying with frustration. Unfortunately my measley laptop really didn't cope well with running the game, but having played some of it on my dad's powerful PC I can say it is an extremely beautiful game. I really hope there will be a sequel because I hadn't had enough when I finished!

Amazing 5 Stars!!

Thank you to the Cyan team whop put this together!!!!! Obduction was everything I hoped for being a super Myst fan (I've played all the Myst games several times each because I couldn't get enough). The Unreal Wngine 4 is awesome, unbelievable graphics, totally immersive.. I played the PC version both with the Steam controlleron on my 4K flatscreen and on my PC 23" monitor with the mouse, both worked great. I replaced my old PC with one that met Cyan's recommendations for running Obduction and I'm glad I did. Getting a good video card with 4GB memory really helped (fluid motion, no freezing) so don't scrimp on processor power, RAM and video for the best experience.. The storyline is unique and with patience the puzzles are solvable; The puzzles are mostly for finding your way around the different worlds. This game is a steal for $30. I hope this was a success for Cyan so that they keep producing games like this.

Loved It

I really enjoyed playing this game. I have really missed playing Myst and it's successors, and this took me back in a great way. It goes smoothly from relaxing to eerie and back, from placid exploration to head scratching puzzles. On more than one occasion while playing the game, I was delighted to find that the game kept opening up new areas and ideas. It has a fun story that, true to the best story telling, left me wanting to find out more. I frequently found myself taking my time, looking in every nook and cranny, just savoring the experience and not wanting it to end. I hope that Cyan is able to make more games in this style; for my taste, this is the best way to enjoy my game time.
