issues with crossplay and linux

Otherwise a nice game (title length was too limited). It runs mostly smoothly, even on low-end hardware when using single-player games. However, the server for online gaming sometimes seem to be a bit overloaded. It takes quite some time to start a game and it sometimes becomes laggy. At least that's not disrupting game experience too strongly. So it's fun to play and even the single player campaign is ok, but I mostly recommend playing it online with some friends. That's however my largest minus, they mainly target Steam (which makes sense due to a larger user base). However, therefore you might run into issues if not all of your friends are on the same platform. Furthermore, despite of Gog's official claims of being DRM free, there are quite a few (possibly singleplayer) components which don't work without galaxy+internet connection, which can become an issue once they shut down their servers. Those issues can stack if you are on linux, since gog doesn't offer galaxy for linux yet. If you use windows or steam you should be fine however. So please inform yourself in the forum discussions for details before buying.

Amazing!

At first, I downloaded the game and spent 2-3 hours, then uninstalled it. I thought i was not in the mood for an RTS, wanted something more tactical. Later on, I had the urge to try it again without knowing why. Fast forward to 30+ hours now, I can say this game is worth every penny! The clans have significant differences and every gameplay is not the same. Mechanics push you towards that clan's strengths and you build around that. There is a high tactical element, as enemies cannot invade your inner areas before they conquer the starting ones, which means there is time to prepare if someone attacks. Moreover, you don't have the RTS component of destroying one building then leaving, then again the same etc. It is indeed a mix of Settlers, Civilization, Warcraft3 (relics etc) & AOE. I won't keep going about the game mechanics, just buy the game and experience it. Coming from a person who initially thought this game is not worth it, trust me, it does!

Glad to see it on GoG

Northgard is a fantastic little gem in the painfully dying RTS genre. From its clean graphics to simple but fun mechanics, this is truly a win for the genre. If I had any gripes with the game it would have to be the DLC, theres a few of them and they add up in price. I love this game enough to support the devs by buying it here for the 3rd time. (own the steam and switch version).

If only it bloody worked (Linux)

I don't have a problem with Northgard. I have a problem with this version of Northgard, for sale on gog.com. I'm a Linux user. This is a native Linux game, which makes me very happy (Shiro Games, thank you for supporting my platform. I'm about to say some slightly mean things, but other than not properly notifying me of this issue on your store page, you didn't do anything wrong here, and I'm really really glad you made a port for the Linux community. For most developers, Linux ports aren't financially beneficial, so I fully understand that about 90% of the ports we get are acts of charity or shows of support from developers, and I am extremely thankful). HOWEVER. GOG Galaxy doesn't support Linux. At all (because CDPR are many good things, but they have never, ever cared about Linux as a platform and their actions have continually made that clear). And substantial portions of this game's content (multiplayer modes) REQUIRES the use of GOG Galaxy. For a lot of people, this won't be an issue, but for Linux users, this means that this version of the game is essentially a rip-off: You're paying the same $30 that you would pay on Steam for about half of the game (and since multiplayer is such a big part of RTS, arguably less than that). The GOG store page won't warn you about this, so it's only when you attempt to PLAY the game that you'll learn you got screwed. As such, the degree to which I like Northgard is immaterial. This version of Northgard, at least for users like me, is irredeemable, and I can only endorse buying Northgard on another storefront, like Steam. I recognize that for many users this won't be the case, but I can only review based on my on experience.

Awesome Managerial Strategy game

This is a fun one, easy to understand and fast but still deep managerial game. Please add LAN with no need for an internet connection and galaxy or whatever app, and this could be a five stars for me.
