Feels unfinished
Crappy controls. Often you have to move from side to side to see some clickable sign at place which you were looking at just from different angle. Graphics looks like tons of visual effects, but overall game feels like dead. The story itself is interesting but game-play is far from enjoyable, it feels annoying to be honest.

Optimisation?
If you're running between the minimum and recommended hardware for this game, this game is brutally demanding and I don't get why. I thought, it's an adventure game should be fine, nope. I've had to back it off massively and vsync it to 30fps and it is just unpleasant. I've given it three as I can't really rate the game itself as the experience is ruined by how it runs. It might be good. Maybe if GPUs ever become affordable again I'll reinstall it.

Great detecive story ruined by visuals
Nobody Wants to Die has all the makings of an excellent narrative adventure that is severely let down by incessant and obnoxious flashing lights, which is a shame. The game is rather brief. I finished it in around 6 hours going slowly and seeing everything on offer, and while there's little gameplay here, the story is excellent. This is more of an adventure game than anytthing, but the noir detective narrative is truly interesting and kept me invested to the end. The voice acting is also top notch and lends to the immersion. Overall, fans of point-and-click or Telltale style adventure games will love it. Unfortunately, the game is hampered by a terrible decision regarding the visuals. First off, the game looks great, and it runs quite well. I didn't experience any bugs or glitches, all good there. The issue is that your protagonist suffers from frequent episodes where the screen will suddenly flash bright blue unexpectedly. This isn't too bad early on, but later in the game it becomes relentless and it's terribly annoying and distracting. Developers in this era need to learn that no one likes these effects and they can be borderline dangerous to some people. I was seriously discouraged by this, because I starting rushing near the end of the game to stop the visual assault and get it over with. If you have no issue with bright and frequent flashing lights, then there's a great sci-fi detective story here, but if you're easily annoyed by bright flashing effects or have any kind of sensitivity to them, avoid this game completely.

Close But No Cigar
I want to start off by saying that if you want to play a game for the story and writing, this is a good one. The writing is crisp and the characters felt realized. My main gripe is that I found the gameplay to be very lackluster. The loop of investigation sounds very intriuging but it's execution falls flat because it doesn't feel fun. The graphics, artstyle, and writing are all a solid 8 but the gameplay is what drags the experience down to a 6.5-7/10 for me. Over-all would I recommend it? If you're absolutely starving for a detective thriller set in a sci-fi city then I'd say buy it while it's on sale.
