fun little game
the fun stuff: 2D graphics, lots of quests, battles are fast, not a pressure-cooker the downside: some quests can get boring

Inexplicable game
Really - what have l just played? Story is convoluted beyond belief, combat system is trash, crashes, clunky UI, lots of padding. Still, it's getting 4 stars. There's just something about it that kept me going for more - possibly the unhinged NPC dialogues that could turn even the most mundane fetch quest in genuine concern for the dev's mental sanity. A big, big part of the charm comes from the translation. Can't explain it until you see it - but if you've ever had to do with Germans trying to be funny in English, trust me - you are in for a treat. And yeah, yeah, the police-torture quest that a lot of reviewers complain about here and on Steam is stupid and pointless but... so what? Just like a GTA player won't start murdering prostitues, a NOLIH player won't start torturing cops. It goes both ways, people.

Worth Playing
This is a great send-up of some of common RPG tropes. Even places where there are missing QOL features (like your horribly messy inventory) lampshades are hung showing that the mess is on purpose. I can't really say much about the game itself without spoiling things, but it definitely has a lot of playability and some replayability :)

Boring
Someone already wrote about the police torture and murder quest in another review; I have not much to add on the topic. Developers, is that supposed to be funny? Or some kind of "provocative social critique"...? Beyond that, the game is simply boring. The basic idea of the game is original, granted (which is the reason why the game is not a total failure), but the concept is wasted in an endless sequence of flat, stupid quests. Finally, those constant, unwanted, annoying random fights, starting even when casually walking in a village, contribute to spoil the game further. Not recommended.
