Hired gun so desperatley wants to be Doom Eternal that it forgets the fundementals of what makes movement shooters fun, following a 'yes and' style of design which cripples the game desperatley. Plenty about the game is 'cool' with some decent ideas cooking about but pulled out of the oven way too early. Weapon customization is nice, but the upgrade system is unecessary, mimicing that of Vermintide and Space Hulk. My primary problem with this is that Hired Gun is not a co-op game so the inclusion of a grindy upgrade system seems like an after thought meant only to improve play-time metrics. I would much rather do the B to S tier missions in order to unlock cosmetics and weapon attachments versus "oh boy more items that are useless to me". Regardless, Necromunda manages to have fantastic visuals in the fast paced shooter but really bungs itself down with the jankiness of movement, poor level design, and mediocre gunplay with the illusion of depth. There are a couple things that can be fixed with a definitive edition, but level design and gunplay are not really one of them. Those areas of the game desperatley need an overhaul and could have been fixed with some more development time. Necromunda: Hired Gun could have been an amazing game but it isn't a terrible one, bogging down itself by being a poor DOOM: ETERNAL clone.

A Shooter

It's a shooter. That's about it. The shooting mechanics are fine, the guns have a lot of oomph and the enemies spill their guts nicely. Vivisector became a great game on that basis alone, so why isn't this one? I have no idea honestly. Maybe it's the arena-like levels that get repeated over and over again. Maybe it's the lack of enemie variety. Maybe it's the lackluster story. Maybe it's the general feel of the mechanics. I played it for some hours and thought I could enjoy it, since I'm really a fan of medicore shooters. It turns out it was just too medicore for me.

Fast FPS dans lequel nous jouons un/une mercenaire, notre mission débute après l'assassinat d'un membre de la guilde des marchants où nous partons à la traque du hors-la-loi responsable en vue d'empocher l'énorme prime pesant sur la tête. Mes impressions: +Direction artistique, décors animés +Nervosité/gameplay +Verticalité/wallrun/grappin +Feeling des armes +Désactiver rechargement auto +Options ATH/FOV/Mappage touche/interface +Coffres/butins +Loot/armes/pouvoirs +Arbre d'améliorations joueur/Cyber-masstif +Martyr's End=HUB +Les ambots +Les foreuses +Les exécutions +Système de score +Bande son/musiques +Durée de vie Difficile (3/4) + quelques missions secondaires=11h ≈Techniquement moyen ≈VF intégrale moyenne ≈Mise en scène ≈Ergonomie des menus ≈Recyclage des voix -Respawn ennemi ne tient pas compte de l'emplacement du joueur -Etre encerclé par le respawn d'environ 15-20 ennemis -Respawn ennemi sur la tête du joueur/infini -Respawn joueur Stimm pile sur l'ennemi/boss -Lock/frappe ennemi au corps à corps téléguidée -Ennemi omniscient/voit au travers des murs/tir sur nous sans voir qu'il y a un obstacle juste devant leur arme -Ennemi figé ou bloqué dans le décors ou trop gros pour les escaliers -Difficulté irrégulière: mission difficile, suivante très facile -Optimisation catastrophique chapitre 7 et 13 -Passage de 60 à 30ips devant un même décors juste en changeant l'angle de vue de quelques degrés=inexplicable -Le scénario -Synchronisation labiale -Blabla souvent interminable/inintéressant -Traverser le décors au grappin et être bloqué -Arrêt brutal des musiques -Missions secondaires répétitives sur les maps déjà visitées -Plantage du jeu après menu de fin dernière mission... Voilà un condensé de défauts, tares techniques et mécaniques de jeu hallucinantes en 2021 ! Et c'est bien dommage, car sans tout ceci, le gameplay peut se montrer excellent et addictif ! Mais il laisse régulièrement la sensation d'un jeu oscillant entre jouissif et frustration.

I just finished the game yesterday and I had a lot of fun, eventhough it's not the most polished game and particularly the story feels underdeveloped and rushed. I wish the player character could have played a bigger role and that Shadow as well as Silver Talon could have had a bit more character development. It was all over way too quickly too. I do want to read the books featuring Kal Jerico now though. Atmosphere, art-design and the music are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, regading these I should give the game 5 stars. The gameplay itself is very satisfying, but way more oldschool/arcady than I anticipated, I personally would have prefered something like Darktide in terms of movement and gunplay, but I still had a lot of fun. It's also very easy to get into a great flow of velocity and violence.

Like Payday 2 but in warhammer universe

Pros: 1) It's fun and I can dial it down so I'm not totally sucking at it. 2) It has a LOT of progression so you can choose your build and work towards it. 3) It has a decent amount of weapons that you can customize for affect AND look. 4) It has ENDLESS side missions so you can save up for the upgrade/weapon you want. 5) It's got enough stress that I get mad when I get killed, but not so much I rage quit LOL. 6) Not afraid to show big breasted females (no faces, but...) in skimpy outfits as bkgrnd NPCs. 7) Voice acting is GREAT. Who knew warhammer universe was in Australia? LOL 8) Graphics/visuals/backgrounds characters etc, very nice and you can adjust lots of settings. 9) VERY immersive, you feel like you're on a hive planet. I play it everyday. 10) You can pet the dog. 11) Even if you fail the side missions, you'll still get some loot/money so you can progress! Cons: 1) Even at easy it's hard for me on the side missions but see 11) above. Most fun I've had in a long time. I'm an older gamer, I remember buying pong and attaction it to my TV. This game is still a lot of fun for me, not as fast twitch as I use to be, notwithstanding. tl;dr: Buy it, it's fun.
