It's great. Doesn't outstay it's welcome
Metroidvania done well. All good: combat, inventive bosses, exploration, mcguffin hunting, quests (ok). If you want to get all of the "mcguffin"s (not saying what exactly to avoid spoilers) - you can find them all on the map if you read in-game how to use map to see these on the map. But you will find all but the last one, for that you will most likely refer to a steam guide which tells you where that last one is and it's not shown on the map. Otherwise, you can find it if you are a dedicated explorer. Difficulty ramps slightly for the final boss, but it's all doable when you consider what the boss is doing and what equipables you can pick to take out the boss after learning what the boss does with attacks and movement. Story is a little difficult to piece together, but it's there to carry the gameplay/exploration/combat along and doesn't matter a whole lot. Protag is female, but you can think of her as a Geralt style character as the pixel art - whilst good, really delivers a mildly androgynous character that has no obvious sex based attributes when observing during gameplay. Even the reflection in the mirror on the title screen looking back at the protag looks like a male. Potential sex-swap happened during late development due to external forces? Who knows. Game is a little gynocentric considering it has female protag and an area called "Gynacium". It's worth mentioning as such details stand out, contextually with the AAA failures that 2024 bought to us all throughout that year. And why these games failed their traditional+current audience. I can overlook this for the most part for the reason's given above. Perhaps not all can overlook.
