Superb experience!

I enjoyed almost everyting in this game as I lived a life of a "runner". Once you get the basics of moving through obstacles -- you get immersed into an action packed gameplay. Nice story to drive the game forward, but the most satisfying part is the first person running/jumping/climbing. Fighting is good, not great, but it does not happen often. Very satisfying and memorable experience. That's what games should do. Short, dynamic, colorful gem of a game. Looking forward to playing the sequel.

don't try this at home

Parkour training simulator with parcel delivery and cops watching your every slide and jump roll. Believe you me, you don't wanna try this at your own. Stay safe and always wear good shoes. (preferably in red) the good: - compelling graphics with comic-style cut scenes like Kill Bill II - flawless gameplay - a well developed game from start to finish the.... well, not so good or mediocre things: - it's like a rather dull surferboyish story from Malibu but on the rooftops - the jump combinations is like Spaghetti trails over the keyboard - sometimes it can feel a bit clunky to catch a rail or jump against a wall to push you upward worth the money

A charming cult classic, but very short

In-depth video review that also covers its sequel Catalyst: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AngParJbxz4 This came out of nowhere when it did. It provided a short, focused story [albeit minimalistic], well fleshed-out parkour mechanics that still serve as the basis for most of first-persons that implement it to this day, and striking visual design. The parkour itself is good, but it feels clunky when you compare it with modern games. I don't blame the game for this, this was after all the foundation for future titles and it makes sense it may feel a bit primitive in some moments. The only part where I blame the game is that sometimes your character doesn't grab ledges where it looks like she should, and it's kinda frustrating when this happens. The only other major downside is its length. It takes just 4 hours from start to finish. You can do time attack trials afterwards, it's not something I enjoy doing but maybe some of you reading this will be enticed by it.

Gorgeous game

For a game made in 2008 it holds up remarkably well. I haven't seen a game use colours like this before and the 'runner vision' where objects highlight red is an awesome touch. But PLEASE PLEASE download the Mirror's edge tweaks mod to uncap the framerate, adjust the FOV and fix the blurry UI. Really good experience otherwise w/ fun gameplay.

Fusrating and a little dull

Overall i wouldn't recommend this game. The free running itself is fairly limited and often the "flow" of the game is very much broken by both sequences of enemy encounters and just downright confusing level design. Often I would find myself at a complete loss where to go next, weird geometries and sometimes outright poor design making it hard to identify where you need to be going up to. There is a feature where you hold alt Faith will look towards the goal but sometimes it's more misleading then helpful since you can't directly go to the goal. The enemy sections are also really annoying, you will frequently be dumped in a room with no idea how to exit and people shooting at you. IN the end the freerunning parts weren't fast enough or satisfying enough and the combat parts were extremely annoying. If you want platforming get a real platformer, if you want free running try Dying light, if you want combat get a real FPS, if you want puzzles get Portal if you want fast try a sonic game, If you want a mess get this game.
