Be warned - Don't go there.
If you playd MOO or MOO2 this will be the biggest disappointment you can imagine. Bad game, faulty combat, dumb AI. You can reduce the level of "suckage" by applying some of the mods available online.

A Sad Sequel to MOO2
This game was so terribly done, it was heart-breaking, though i wouldn't be all dramatic like most of the posters here, but the game is utterly crap and really isn't worth the money, maybe £1.99 and 50p during sales, beyond that, hell no!. There haven't been any really good 4X Strategy games since Master of Orion 2, Galactic Civilizations came close to it, but due to how they did the upgrading of the ships and the weapons and defensive technologies made it fail.

Game is utter fail
This game is so bad, I would even give it no stars if it were possible. The shortest way to describe this game is: think of a huge, complex Excel spreasheet, full of data. You touch a value here, and a value there gets changed, and soon the first value you changed has gone back to its original value without any warning for you. Sheer boredom and waste of time.

A good game.
I've sunk many hours into Master Of Orion III. It is a well thought out game. However, it is 100% unplayable with just the 1.25 patch... you must download many different mods to get a playable game. If you do it though, you'll find one of the best games around. People don't give the credit the game deserves

Not that bad
I always wonder, why are people so upset about this game. Maybe because lots of them are MoO2 fans, in which case I can understand their feelings, as the third installment is not at all similar to the previous games. However, if you get used to it, MoO 3 can still be lots of fun as a high-scale empire management game. I've spent weeks playing it in my youth and don't regret it at all.
