Lust from Beyond

I was expecting a sexy horror adventure game, but instead of any of those things, I got stuck for hours trying to find small objects in huge dark environments, got punished for simply looking at interesting things in said environments, and constantly died for not figuring out what the right path was. The story is also extremely ridiculous, and constantly seemed to contradict my choices. I gave up at Chapter 4 due to all this. It's clear a lot of love and care was put into this game, but I have no idea who would find the end result fun to play. Unfortunate.

It feels like half of a game. Like it just floats on having some evil gore. The gameplay does not even try to the point its a slog. The Puzzles are awful. I can think of 1 in the entire game that was even a little interesting. The "fighting" is a joke. "Stealth" mechanics are a joke. Game will ignore you walking in front of an NPC 2 feet away in some instances and then auto lock some unlimited HP enemy that will chase you around no matter what you do The leveling system may as well have just been a check in the box There is not a single thing in the game that does not progress without a mcguffin. It was like one writer made a cool world and story and the person who turned it into a video game just did not even pretend to try. The liniar gameplay feels like its an effort to pad the game time by forcing you to do things in an insanely specific order that makes zero sense to the game or world. You will literally spend time trying to figure out how the game is coded while knowing what you need to do next and being right in front of it. As a world and movie I would say they did good. If you want a gory version of eye spy with awful gameplay but in a super cool world with crazy art this could work for you. Fitting of the dev companies name they should stick to making a movie.

J'ai passé un excellent moment sur ce jeu, que j'ai beaucoup apprécié de par son côté horreur et érotisme. Pour être honnête je ne m'attendais pas à une histoire aussi profonde et bien écrite, j'ai été agréablement surprise. Le dénouement est bien amené, les personnages sont bien écrit, sans parler de l'ambiance globale du jeu. Et j'ai trouvé ça cool de pouvoir laisser le choix aux joueurs à certain moment.

I read mixed reviews for Lust For Darkness" so I waited to get that on sale. "Darkness " was no so much "game" as a "proof-of-concept" and 3D art gallery: too much scenery, obtuse puzzles, and boring scenic exploration, and could not be enjoyed, much less cmopleted, without a walkthrough; This sequel, Lust From Beyond, adds more appropriate balance of puzzles, exploration, and hepful narrative, but it still feels corwded with too much junk (that ends up discrouating useful exploration/puzzles) and too muc reading. "Beyond" is WAY closer to feeling like a "game" wtih legit flow and replay value. If the next game is a little more "pulzzle-ed open world" and less "graphic texture garage sale", then I'd more likely pay full price.

And that is an Erotic Horror game, with an emphasis on Horror.
