Terrible
Horrible controls. No idea what the point of the game is. Completed 98% of chapter one, left game, and it started over. Uninstalled.

It's okay but not Lovecraftian at all
Okay, so this one is a sort of roguelike game (not really, because you do not have the SAME character that keeps its skills or upgrades after death) which is fine and the game itself is okay. However this is only a cheap attempt to milk a popular franchise, namely the Lovecraft theme. If anyone ever read just a few of his stories knows that his work is not about run'n'gun at all. There are no skeletons or zombies waking up in the cemetary (apart from ONE occation which is not really just any skeleton but that's another story), no "waves of enemy goo attack" or anything similar. In fact I think there are only a handful of times in his WHOLE WORK when a gun is fired ever. Anyway the game is okay, the spiky traps are very annoying and trolling because unfairly hidden behind other parts of scenery. Also I doubt that anyone would go and put dozens of spike traps (along with its machinery parts) in an abandoned cemetary.... You can't put money or info (the two currencies of the game) into the shared storage for future characters, only items. So if you start again, even if you had a fortune on another character you'll have nothing but the items in storage.

Old style rougelike in pure form
Reading most reviews i feel some people were expecting different game and review it for what it is not. Let me put it simple in few points: 1. Rougelike - you die = you start over (in most cases). If You want to play this game, find some time first, as You are not able to just jump in and off as You like. That's how old rougelikes work. Deal with it :) BTW. You die a lot, often - not only from combat tho. 2. There is little info and little help. Lots of information about, for example secret rooms and how to find it i had to google. This could be improved a bunch, but it is not. (You have to press E near wall to find secret room. Blood leading to wall is a tip). 3. Game is tough and controls are somewhat demanding, but after 2-3 hours of gameplay i get used to it and it's OK. 4. Music and general feeling of game is really good. If You don't like pixelart, don't buy it. If You love Lovecraft or Mythos, You'll probably like what game offers. 5. There are two types of currency - money and info. Traders are in secret areas (which has it's charm, but it should be improved imo). 6. There is no traveling. After You leave You can't go back. There should be info about it even at start of the game! This should be improved. After all i really like the game. It requires some time to understand how it works, but game is stable and well done. Pixelart is amazing, game challenging as it should be. Don't quit after dying (if You do, then this game is far from what You want to play). I really hope they will add more content, maybe some DLC. IMPORTANT NOTE: read FAQ of the game, created by authors on steam discussion. It clears a lot of things and questions. Have a nice time playing game :)

Game not to be missed!
The Untold Stories is just wonderful. It is done with a good taste with Pixel gpcs and it is fairly easy game but very attracting. There certainly is horror elements and the Ancients buttkicking is fun. At the first gaming day I got to the level 4, Mines and found first new character - - - Professor. Also, gfx is clear and attractive; I got hooked immediately to the representative. Some controls were, at first, difficult to learn but to throw a dynamite and use certain items, like those which prevent the bleeding, and avoid traps is fairly well. I think that this was absolutely game to confront - - - It is fun, you don't have to be a Hardcore Lovecraft fan to enjoy it and it can be enjoyed as a shooter and slash and hack if one feels so. And, if one loves to collect horror stories, the elements are certainly there. The insanity system is well established, but would wish it would cause more monstrosities or ancients to appear as is in the case in the real worlds - insanity breeds beasts from the deep. I will not spoil the plot more. Just, warmly recommend this!

Avoid this game
-Graphismes moches -1er niveau bien dosé entre exploration & combats puis beaucoup trop d'ennemis -Trop dur -Trop de collectibles cachés -Pas d'upgrades entre chaque run -Tuer les boss de chaque niveau de suffit pas pour finir le jeu, il faut des collectibles spéciaux -Musiques quasi inexistantes -Certains personnages injouables (en + d'être difficiles à débloquer) Bref, je ne me suis pas amusé
