Disclaimer: I am not the biggest fan of the genre to which Lost Horizon belongs, therefore take this review with a grain of salt. 1. Graphics: From 2023 standpoint, hard to consider those as graphics since they are merely quasi-static wallpapers. Nevertheless, they are pleasant for the eye during the “sweaty” brainstorming sessions . 15/20 2. Story: Story’s all right. In a nutshell, the tail of a savvy Brit vs evil Nazis. Nothing super exciting or new, but probably enough to attract your attention to the doings of the Nazi Germany’s Ahnenerbe organization and let you do your own research of this subject. Who said PC games can’t teach you anything? 20/30 3. Gameplay: As you’ve probably read in the disclaimer you shouldn’t be expecting any particular objectivity in this review. Having said that, I will boldly say that most of the time the gameplay is pretty dull. In my opinion, the gameplay lacks variety although I cannot deny the fact that occasionally I feel a little of dopamine flowing trough my veins after successfully solving the puzzles. Press spacebar while standing in a particular location, read every single magnifying glass information available in that location, pick up objects, use them in one (just one sequence), move on to another location, return to the first one, get stuck, use your combinatorics skills with your objects in the case when your cognitive skills fail you, rinse and repeat. *Yawn… There’s no real gameplay here nor in the games of this genre it’s more like a visual novel where your choices have no consequences in the sense that your cannot die or lose in this game, you’ll get stuck in a particular location as long as you haven’t executed your actions in the right order (let my once again put the emphasis on the word “right”). 25/50 4. Final words: Buy it if you like the genre. Otherwise, get it on special or don't buy it at all. Read some good books instead :)
