Needs fix, otherwise good Warcraft clone
I've just finished the demo. The good: It's straight up Warcraft 2 in HD with the gameplay additions from Warcraft 3 like heroes that can level up, be revived, equip armor, use items and special passive and active skills. Controls are the same, including how to make waypoints etc... so if you already know how to play the old RTS, it's pick and play. For people like me who prefer 2D in HD over 3D it looks better than most recent strategy games imho. The bad: Path finding has problems even in groups of only 8-9, which was already apparent in the first mission since sometimes parts of the group will just not move at all if their paths collide with others in the group unless you give the command a second or third time, that is my main concern and I hope it will be fixed. There's a bug that makes the subtitles all garbled and jittery in the Linux port, but that is most likely a Unity issue. No MP obviously although as I've already said that's not important to me, but it will certainly prevent many sales, which is unfortunate. I know it means a lot of additional work, but it should be worth it in terms of sales. GOG-specific point: I read that the map editor is missing here while it is on Steam, I can't confirm this, but it would be quite bad. I'll probably buy it when the path finding is fixed, I get a confirmation that the map editor is available on GOG and I have money again.
