Design your own castles and build them using actual historical blueprints.Then lay siege to your neighbors' castles and fight out land battles in tactical details.

Lords of The Realm propels you into the epic conflicts and intrepid life of thirteenth century England. As one of five nobles you manage crops, build weapons, construct a castle and raise an army to conquer neighbouring realms before they conquer you. Classic, and always scratches the itch

Never played the first, but LotR 2 is a game that is always on my HD, and one that always gets played a couple of times per year. Yeah, it's not as in depth and challenging as some of the new total war games, but it's got everything you want if you like these games. The beauty of it is that it's simple, fun, and easy to just sit down and play for half an hour. You can't really get a whole lot better than this.

Game of my childchood. It is hard to find that level of amazing atmosphere in other games. One of the best strategy games ever made.

Great Classic

I own the original on CD and love it. (LOTR 1 allows you to conquer Germany instead of England if you want to.) I think it may be worth a few bucks to get GOG's packaged version so I don't have to fight with Windows anymore. Getting LOTR 2 would just be even better.

One of my all time faves

I can still remember picking up a copy of LOTR2 in a Babbages bargian bin in the late 90's because the cover looked interesting. My wife can remember being an LOTR2 widow on Friday nights late. Everything about this game, from the game play, the atmosphere, the music...you get the picture... invites you to lose yourself in a relaxed yet never boring expereince that will captivate your imagination. If you have ever wanted to run your own kingdom, and wage war against castles, wait till they announce a fix to the bug that keeps it from starting, then prepare to be ruled by the realm you rule!!
