The silent hill you were waiting for.

Lone survivor is a pure old school survival horror in 2D, graphics are awesome and the atmosphere is just amazing, Foggy, very dark and creepy plus bizarre = pure win :) The good: *no unlimited ammo and just a handgun to use, you need to hide from enemies, and you can lure them with meat or use a flare to avoid them *Everything you do change your ending, from killing the enemies to help npc or abuse the pills *no unlimited or auto-regen health, you need food for health and you need to eat too periodically, you need to cook some of the food too. *Great music. *6 endings so there is a lot of reply value. *Very scary and dark game with a great story too *your home servers as a base were you need to save and sleep there, cook your food etc, and the mirror in your house servers a quick travel system. The bad: *a little bit short (6-5 hours) but with a lot of reply value !!! *the map is a little bit confusing Lone survivor is a very complex and deep game, a must play for any fan of survival horror!

A new bar for storytelling

This game is everything a survival horror should be. It's immersive and terrifying in a way that will seem familiar to fans of Silent Hill 2, but without being cheap and ripoff-y. The gameplay is simple, but intense. Being relatively helpless, tension runs high as you attempt to sneak past the monsters. Despite all this, my greatest praise comes from the nameless main character. The plot is mostly him trying to escape from the zombie-overridden apartment complex, but his mental condition and internal states are fascinating. Unlike so many game protagonists, he shows human emotions like loneliness and fear. Experiencing his struggle to live is a draining and cathartic experience. The multiple endings are ambiguous, but I think they represent some of the most beautiful game endings I've ever seen. Exactly what happens in each and what they mean are open to interpretation, but to see him let go and his struggle end is very bittersweet. Buy this game. Play it. Love it. Let's raise the bar for gaming with purchases like this.

Great 3-5 hour Game

This game may not be scary but it is fun to play. It has multiple endings and you can play the game either trying to sneak past enemies or shoot them and the way you play will affect the ending you get. It also has a silent hill feel to it so if you like silent hill then you'll enjoy this.

A modern classic

I don't tend to enjoy games much these days. This is one of the true gems i've come across over the years and i have no doubt that it will keep me entertained for a long time. the controls aren't exactly the best but it makes for a more claustrophobic experience. sure, there are some nonsensical parts to the game but you really get the feel of being the last sane person in a world of death. during my time playing this game i have gone in guns blazing and i've spent time figuring out how to use stealth to my advantage. i sincerely hope that Jasper makes more games because i need more of this level of artistry

Not Scary

This isn't a bad game. It's basically a 2D Silent Hill game, meaning that if you liked Silent Hill, you'll feel right at home here. But if you've played the Silent Hill games (specifically 1, 2, or 3) you pretty much know the plot and story, so don't expect any big surprises. At the end of the day though, the main problem I had with this game is that it isn't scary. I read so many reviews where people talked about how scary it is and how it gave them nightmares, so I was really excited. But at no point did I ever feel scared (and I scare EXTREMELY easily). It has a very creepy atmosphere and I felt on edge a lot, but I never actually felt scared. If you want a creepy survival horror game and are nostalgic for the old Silent Hill games, pick this up. It's short but it's pretty good and not expensive. If you want a game that will scare you...I'd keep looking
