Hearken to me, oh seeker of knowledge...

If you're like me, and remember the glory days of gaming on the Atari ST, then you remember Dungeon Master. The peak of FPS party dungeon crawling. The game that not only set the bar high, but actually forged the bar, and mounted the damned thing in the first place. Well, Grimrock is not that game. Really. Just ask the devs. Nope.... Same maps. Same puzzles. Same mobs with reskins. Better lighting and graphics. A modern remaster of a game that was so good, they couldn't let it die. Buy it. Enjoy it. Escape the mountain again.

This brings me back

This is the way games should be... old school mode, pen and graph paper taking your time to get it right. Mapping just like you would in a real dungeon. Just got to the first life crystal before you go down the stairs already 4 sheets of maps in! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Let the kids have their angry birds and COD I will always love a good crawl.

Less is more

Had this for about 36 hours and already close to 12 hours game time. Simple game yet it is better than anything that Bethesda has come up with or Bioware has made in over 10 years with multi million dollar budgets. Strong statement but I'm in love. I has everything that made games like EotB great but with modern graphics that build so much tension. The number of times I've jumped as a crab or spider appeared from around a corner is countless. Another huge plus is that you never get strong enough to just aggro an entire room and hope to survive. Get boxed in and 9 times out of ten you are going down or using up all your very limited potions and freeze bombs. I just hope that Almost Human are making enough off of this to make a sequel on a grand scale.

Not a Bad Game But........

For a dungeon crawler it is not too bad but not the best. The main problem with this game is getting it to run without overheating your computer and force shutting it down on overheat. I highly recommend as soon as you start the game to immediately go into options and start changing most of the settings. With that aside the game itself could of been better. Some of the puzzles are downright ridiculous when you get to dungeon level 6. If you want a great dungeon crawler go with Might & Magic 7 you'll thank me later.

Good up to now...

I usualy find dungeon games to be too complicated for my taste. But I find that Legend of Grimrock is simple and lots of fun. I'm only at level four up to now, but I really like it, and it keeps on getting better. Enjoy!
