Great game

love it! last game that i enjoyed this much was witcher 3.

I'm in love.

I've feel in love with this game and I am not ashamed to say so. It may be flawed sometimes, and some quests may be stuck, but no love is without issues! The thing I think I loved most about it, were the characters. I've not seen such good character writing, since The Witcher 3, and before that just a couple of games caught my fancy under this department. I mean the young Lord Capon of Lipa, I hated that man when I started the game with Henry. At the end of the game? I was begging god for the guy to survive all the encounters. Henry felt like that man has become his friend, and through Henry I had the same feeling. Graphics are beautiful, the quests are interesting, and I do enjoy combat very much. Most important? Mod support! Modding will give this game long life! So do not think, do not ponder, buy this game! BUY IT NOW!

What a fantastic game!

This game is amazing, it looks fantatic, and best thing, it has a fantastic storyline. The fighting-system is unique and takes a learningcurve, but once masterd a joy! However, this game is in it current state "playable" and littered with annoying, gamebreaking bugs: - black loading screens - cut-scenes that doesn't match with your selected choises - slow texture loading - getting stuck in and on objects (so you have to restart to the latest savepoint 60+ minutes ago...) - clipping and floating objects - weird dialogs with people - etc. All these things doens't make this a bad game, only annoying and in some cases unplayable. for my feeling the bugs are there because the game is rushed to deliver (and not properly tested...) Which is pitty beacuse it does make me feel that I payed for an unfinnished product. (the latest patch was over 20+ GB !? - still dind't fix above mentioned issues) Anyway I've seen games in worser conditions (really!!) and I can recommend this game to everyone who loves RPG alike games! especially tho's who don't like the high-fantasy RPGS's. However, check some gameplay video's first as this game isn't for everyone.

A realistic Skyrim?

The most common description of this game seems to be "a realistic skyrim" which is both misleading and accurate at the same time. There are several similarities to Skyrim, both good and bad, but on the whole this is targeting a very different demographic. Where Skyrim is about as mainstream as one can get, KCD is aimed more towards people who enjoy a challenge. What the two games have in common is a beautiful open world, lots of poorly written and repetative fetch/kill quests, midieval weponry and that is pretty much where the similarities end. While KCD has a much higher standard of writing than Skyrim for many of its quests, especially the main quest, there are quite a few side quests that are every bit as lazy and uninspired as anything Bethesda's radiant system has produced. Realism is KCD's core design philosophy, which includes historical accuracy, and they have done a truly impressive job at it. Combat in KCD is one of those love it or hate it systems where opinions will differ quite alot. The idea is that you have to read your opponent, anticipate his moves and react accordingly, which is all well and good, but KCD can't quite pull it off. Instead you basically just wait for the green light (target reticle changes to a green shield when a strike is incomming) and dodge/parry - retaliate. My biggest gripe with melee combat is that it locks you on to 1 opponent, making multiple opponents downright frustrating, and also requires you to aim the direction of your attacks with your mouse, which is less than accurate unless you play with unusually low DPI. It does not help that the mouse also controls where you are looking, often leading to you looking away and locking on to another opponent instead of aiming a strike. This is not an issue 1vs1, but all too often you are forced to engage groups of enemies which this combat system simply does not do well. Range combat is even harder with you having to try and aim the arrow without a reticle while the bow sways back and forth. The swaying is reduced as your bow skill increases but it never stops being about personal skill (or luck) rather than character stats. The most consistent complaints right now are the amount of bugs and horrible optimisation, both of which are unfortunately major issues at the time of writing this review. My pc is capable of running Ethan Carter in VR with everything on ultra, but this game keeps stuttering and freezing randomly inspite of a consistent 80+ fps. Have also encountered quite a few bugs, including several that breaks the main quest, so it is worth waiting on a few major patches before picking this up. Still, a fantastic game i have had alot of fun with inspite of its technical difficulties.
