Couldn't finish

I want to like this game I can't. First of all the constant arrows I'm firing ghosting through enemies like they aren't there, same with melee for some reason. Painful grind that only serves to pad to actually be able to engage in combat. The nonsense encounters not ment for hte combat system. Gets really exhausting. I like the story for what I played. Voice acting and writing is excelent. Questing is fun. Along with the economy system and the numerous ways to make money. Its very immersive in its systems that while takes time to learn really becomes engaging. Potion making is my personal favorite. Once you learn to read of course in game. Hopefully the sequel improves on the combat as that really killed it for me. I simply can't enjoy it with how unresponsive it is. As for the 'realistic' aspect nonsense the main character doesn't respone a lot of the time and the attacks again have a nasty habbit of ghosting through enemies. Especially when you take the time to stealth up to them only for your arrow or mace/sword to disappear through them only for you to be ganged up on. Playtest the game and fix these things. The developers clearl got talent and great sense for historical authenticity. They need to fix a few things to improve the fun aspect which I hope happenes.

Bad saving system, worst combat system.

The story is interesting, and the visual aspect is astounding. The way the game show how the middle age worst is a nice work, so where is the problem for such a bad review.? 2 main problems: The save system is horrible. You can only save at save points (sleeping in designated places) or drinking an alcoholic bran drink. This is especially annoying in the "A woman's lot" expansion, where you have to go through very difficult moments in the game without being able to save for quite a long time, which forces you to waste a lot of time continually repeating the same part of the game. In my case, I was able to solve it by installing a mod, which allowed me to save whenever I wanted, but the fact that the game doesn't allow you to do it as standard... is bad enough. -The combat system is HORRIBLE, they have always sold that it is a very historically faithful combat system, and I am not here to judge that, but it is a system that is poorly implemented. To begin with, the system is designed for duels, that is, 1 vs 1 (even in this it falters) but almost all combats are always against groups of enemies, which makes the fight extremely difficult. Plus, you're always alone in the game. The only way to win is if there is a big difference in level and equipment between you and your attackers, and you can move backwards to force them to come 1 at a time against you, or it is impossible to win the fights. It was really frustrating, never I was so close to ask for a reimburse

Awful, thoroughly broken game, but according to the lead dev, the game halting, game breaking bugs (literally hundreds of them) gives the game character

Good game, flawed production and QA

I've spent over 60 hours on this and I can definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes RPG games as well as medieval setting. I have to say that overall I found it very amusing and challenging - the completely new system for melee weapons is something that is very hard to learn at first, but after some time you get used to it and then it starts to be very rewarding. Graphics and sound are overall good, although I can't understand why Devs didn't make the original Czech voiceover. I know that the Czech market is too small for such game, but I can imagine that many people playing it would like to hear the original language for the sake of immersion. I, for instance, used German language, cause it was like second most common language in that region at that time. All in all - the 60 hours flew so fast I didn't even notice it, so the game must be good. NOW - PROBLEMS However - you have to be aware of many flaws of KCD. First of all - many bugs. The game is still being patched, but it still have lots of problems. Optimization, texture loading, etc. - these I find troubling, but still something I can live with. But when the game mechanics is flawed and it cause frustration - now there is where the problem starts. Melee fights - as I said before, when you learn it, the fighting system can become very rewarding, but at the same time it remains troublesome and frustrating. It was created for the purpose of fighting single oponent or very small groups - just as it was in the medieval, fights were more of 1v1 combat. Where there are more oponents, the system becomes chaotic and frustrating, giving you very little control over what's happening. And a light archer has advantage over heavy armored target which is... hard to believe, especially on close distance. Sneaking - this cost me lots of nerve and cursing. If you create a mechanic for sneaking, do it well, not 'half bake it'. Storyline - you don't cut story like that. You just don't. Would say more than 2000chrs
