Description


Kapital: Sparks of Revolution is a sandbox city-builder focused on society management. It is a game about crisis and permanent conflict in human society. You will run out of vital resources in times you need them the most. People will protest and riot despite your best efforts to help them. Not everyone will survive.

You’ll have to run a city with limited resources. To balance between people's needs and city development. To deal with angry crowds on the streets. You are the one to shape the future of your people. Just remember - there is no way to make everyone happy.


The population of your city consists of 3 classes: nobles, bourgeois and workers. Each class has a unique role in the city economy. Nobles serve as officials and policemen, bourgeois pay taxes while workers provide the labor force. Their vision of the future is very different and they are ready to fight for it.


Running the city is not an easy task. Your resources are limited while people’s demands are high. You have to decide who will get food and shelter first. Be prepared to face new threats on a regular basis. Epidemics, accidents, sabotages, hostage situations - the city will fall apart unless you make a difference.


People whose needs go unsatisfied will hold a grudge against your rule. Some of them will become dissidents and radicals. They will form secret societies to overthrow you. Protests on the streets will turn into massacres and riots. You have to make a tough choice of which class to support and which to suppress.


You will research new technologies and adopt new laws to improve the lives of your citizens. You will fight crime, tackle corruption and maintain order on the streets. As a ruler of the city, you have the ultimate power to shape the future of your society. The question is how far will you go to reach that goal?

Class-struggle-punk

Frostpunk but with class struggle instead of deadly temperatures. Compared to frostpunk the game has several disadvantages: * the graphics are less pretty, but still readable * there are no drama-filled scenarios, there's just the base scenario * has performance issues - can start freezing in the late game, when it does a restart is recommended The gameplay is very similar to frostpunk, with even the techtree having a very similar structure. The in-game threats are based on conspiring citizens and random events. There are 3 internal factions: nobles, capitalists and workers. The trick is to balance their interests and eliminate the troublemakers. Overall I had fun with it.

extremely diffcult city simulator.

I enjoy the concept and graphics. The gameplay is extremely difficult with complex mechanics that don't allow any fulfillment. Its impossible to maintain gold and grain inflow in sufficient amounts. everything in your city is falling apart, which requres additional resources, people rioting destroy your palace, no matter what you do the loyalty of the classes is falling down, people go after each other even if you keep each class happy. The politics and dialougues are shallow.

Packed Small Experience

A comfortable and challenging strategy-managing game, that I finished in 16 hours of interested engagement. While not as wide and expanding as bigger games in the genre, it is very concise, dynamic, adaptive and with some good surprises every now and then. It does everything it promisses, being very well-built and calibrated, not wasting time or space. I wished it was expanded, given more depth, more models for buildings (!) and even mroe politically interactive. Cuz the gameplay is even addictive sometimes, even if it is somewhat simpler than other managements. The theme is well handled, the writing is good, the tone finely tuned. Few management games do this well, and even better, let you shape it. I just wanted more of it. I'll be on the lookout for this studio! Not a brand new bleeding-edge manager, but super competent and with a level of detail and interaction that sometimes surprises. For management and industrial revolution games, I can recommend.
