Hidden Gem

Some folks claim this is a casual game. I suppose to an extent this is true. I am greatly enjoying this game. Solid puzzles. Strong narrative. Well-meshed graphics. It's fun, and appealing. If you're looking for a "americanized norse pantheon" product, this is not it. The game is not about empowerment and simplistic badassery. The game is action oriented, with a strong interactive puzzle orientation. THe combat is decently rounded, and tough if you are not experienced. The story drives the narrative, and while it has the nordic pantheon, it's focus is not on the nordic pantheon. Love the game. Beautiful piece.

I didn't get it either......

Again like a previous reviewer said, "pause to view the map". Well there's no pause at all to even view the map in, and that didn't exist anyway! :D That sums the whole kit and caboodle up. It's just nothing but "eh?", "eh?", "don't geddit". Gameplay consisted of wandering around a forest type scenery, occasionally chopping away giant tree roots and smaller aggressive tentacle type roots. Finding the odd statue and shrine etc, but they either did nothing, or left you wondering "yes...... and....... what just happened?". Looked pretty and animations looked very professionally done. For that it gets one extra star. I got this on a free offer so can't complain about value for money. But full price it is £11 here in the UK. Robbery for just the ten minutes I persevered before uninstalling.

Beautiful and light

A carefully crafted storybook about a Viking warrior robbed of her chance to go to Valhalla. The gods take pity on her and offer a chance to prove herself: Defeat the Jotun. The game focuses more on worldbuilding with fantastical art style, simple soundtrack, great Icelandic voice-acting, with a splattering of light action game elements to tell the simple story. Each zone, or rune, became a night's bedtime story after a long day, allowing me to be immersed in the mythological world. There are some good puzzles and encounters to challenge players, but the game really shines when letting you take a moment to enjoy a vista, listen to some narration, or be in awe of the completeness of the mythology. This is more like a modern ode to the ancient stories told under the Norse pantheon.

Figure it out.

Maybe it's just me, but one of those games where I can't even figure out what to do without constant referral to what online resources there are. I mean literally just minutes into the game. It's pretty and attractively presented, granted. Gameplay, not so much. A manual might have helped.

The Nine worlds

This game reminds me of that Thor God of Thunder abomination on the Xbox 360.....because it sucks The nine worlds.....as soon as i saw that i was reminded of God Of Thunder,can it be that boring and clunky,i asked myself and yes it is.There are tho a couple of worlds which showcase the amazing action and animations of the game.Too bad they are far between The games looks very nice and sounds..well...decent but that's about it
