One of my favourites
I played this game at around the same time I played MGSV:PP and considered it one of the best stealth games I had ever played - and I still stand by that statement. Great atmosphere, fun gameplay and design that strikes the important balance of giving you the sense you can predict how your scenarios will play out and having enough behaviour patterns, enemy types etc. that you feel like there's a real danger of getting caught at the wrong time. Consider if that is the gameplay experience you're looking for but if it is, this one's for you!

Starting out, there is something here
It's a lot about sneeking and similar to Commandos or other games.

Good Ideas with some annoying defaults
I put more than 15 hours into this game in the first week and really enjoy some parts of it. This game feels like a good mix between the cyber punk elements of the original Deus ex and Syndicate. squad based & stealth elements from Commandoes series, metal gear (stealth) and door kickers/frozen synapse with a mix of the random elements of FTL. I really enjoyed the tension of sneaking around in a isometric view with some turn based stratergy and planning and it can be quite addicting. However I also found some of the core mechanics in normal mode a bit painful. 1) There is a time limit on normal mode meaning that even if you do everything perfectly quietly the alarm will STILL rise each turn and eventually bad stuff will happen. Was I not SUPPOSED to be moving around quietly and carefully? 2) Alerted guards seem to never chill out and return to their original action. 3) The starting units or agents have really poor starting stats and no inventory. This relates to the events of the story and makes you scavenge anything you can. Why does this game ALSO constantly tease me with so much purchasable upgrades etc. that I could never afford? The story says your organisation has to start from zero with whatever it can salvage however, weren't these agents ever TRAINED? 4) Your boss admonishes you when you stuff up...COME ON! Give me a BREAK! You didn't give me a sparky or a shooty thingie so I can't attack any guards. Also I can't even do a cool tap the wall to make sounds trick. What do you expect me to DO? I am enjoying the custom mode now.

not a bad game but overpriced & short
You play as a team of agents from a spy agency going on missions to advance the storyline. Choose between different kind of missions with their own rewards (money, keys for use in other missions, cyberimplants, equipment, programs, team member,...) but the same mechanics. Travelling to the mission takes time and advances the limited clock, close distance or the other side of the planet takes about as much time which is annoying to me. Mid to late missions are sometimes impossible because guards have armor you cannot beat because the random generator would not give you the required piece of equipment and you have to start a new game from scratch. To overcome security you have access to programs you can use and some make powerful combinations but other are of little use, if the random generator is not in a good mood you may again fall short in the later missions and have to start again, again. Money is the main resource, you use it to buy equipment, cyber augments, programs or improve your characters. You'll have to make the best of the amount you have and spending too much too early may end you up unable to buy the required piece of equipment the item generator suddenly offered you, and spending too little or too late and you may fail on the next mission and have to start again, again. Soon enough you'll get a run with the random generator on your side and end up beating the game, as this game is short, really short and the replayability is low. Unlockable characters supposedly allow for diversity and more fun, but they kinda lack balance. The randomness of the game kills the replayability. Luckily you can adjust the settings to make it last longer and more to your personal taste but the random generator is king and it will decide if you'll be able to beat the later levels or not. IMHO even if it wasn't flawed it would not belong in this price range, but it is flawed. For this price I'd recommend you get don't starve + reign of giants or the alone pack.
