Could have been a branching masterpiece

The idea is interesting: You play a woman in a quite ordinary relationship who just moved into the big city and is trying to get her dream job while her partner is working much to provide for her. He is honest and loyal but also not very exciting and now here is the big city with so many not so boring and interesting new people who are interested in her ... forbidden fruits and urging desires deep inside the woman ... temptation is everywhere and it is up to your choices how these will influence the life of this woman. The original name of the game was "Corrupting Jennifer" which imo is far more fitting since this is what the game is really about and depending on your choices Jennifer might end up really f*cked up in the end or get the usual happy end (if you could call it so). The nsfw scenes are really well made and varied and some of the scenes are pretty extreme - but you will only see those anyway if you made the choice to see them so you'll only get what you chose and therefore you should not complain about it ;) The game is not that long IF you only play it once, but I really suggest to replay it again and again with different choices otherwise you'll only see the tip of the iceberg the game has to offer and the iceberg is huge. The game has 13(!) possible endings and some of them are extremely different. I have unlocked 12 endings and played over 20 hours. The amount of choices is amazing and it could be a masterpiece in this regard - but it isn't. Unfortunately some of the branching paths (GOG release 1.0) don't fit together the way they should. I.e. you might call people by their first name before knowing their first name or you might talk about events of past scenes that never happened in the branch you chose and similar things. It does not happen often and given how many branching paths this game has it could be that you will never see those moments at all. I reported all the inconcistensies to the devs so they might be fixed in a future release.

a little silly but occasionally hot

The premise of the game is that you get to control key decisions for a hot twenty-something girl and observe the results. It's an adult game, so most decisions lead to 3D rendored sex but that's probably 99% of why you'd buy the game. The story underlying the game is ok but a little silly if I'm being honest. Jennifer, the protagonist, is in a long-term relationship with Mark, but they've hit a rough patch in their relationship. He's starting a career and takes her a little for granted while he focuses his energies there, and she is a nymphomaniac. Seriously, a stiff breeze is all it takes to send Jennifer over the edge, whether that breeze is spying on others having sex, being extorted for sex, exploring lesbian sex, furthering her career with sex, or several other vague setups that would not, under any circumstances, lead to sex in real life. But then again, Jennifer's hypersexuality is why people buy the game, so maybe it doesn't matter. The plot has her just having moved to New York, a city which apparently is in desperate need of of a robust #MeToo movement because almost every guy she encounters does truly disgusting things to her, and even when they don't do disgusting things they are ALWAYS thinking them. Just complete objectification. But again, as I said it's kind of why you buy the game so...it's a good thing? Anyway, depending on your decisions Jennifer can find her way to everything from a fullfulling relationship with Mark to becoming a trophy wife to becoming a submissive sex slave. It covers a broad enough spectrum of outcomes, so you should be able to find something that tickles you, although I will say that the decisions triggering major life altering changes can seem very inocuous (Do I want a glass of wine? If so I'm having sex with my neighbor!). The text is ok, it drags in places but the visuals and animations are good enough to keep your interest, and they have skip functions to get past particularly long stretches of dull inner monologue.

Not my "cup of tea"

My third AVN played. Jennifer is a likeable character, however, she ends up in bad situations that generally have bad and worse options. I took the high-road path and the ending was a win-lose scenario. I have no desired to play the game again to see alternate endings, because I would not want the alternate choices for the character. Bought on sale and would not recommend paying full price.

It's ok

Several short stories, depending on the players decisions, leading to various occasions for Jennifer to behave or not, there are several guys she can hook up with and having different jobs. Some of the story ars are more interesting, some less. After one playthrough you only have seen a fraction of the game, because depending on early choices everything changes drastically. I personally prefer one longer plot instead of these short stories. If you want to see a game from the perspective of one guy with no others involved, this is definitly not for you.

I think originally this was supposed to be a "good girl gone bad" story, but some bits were added on top so the game can be sold as a more general game. Liked: * Jennifer is, on some paths at least, a likeable character * female character models are fine (not super unbeliveable) That's it? yeah, that's it. Didn't like: * writing ranges from very low quality to nonsensical. Jennifer is as gullible as a six year old, in other scenes she is cheating or suckerpunching men twice her size without any character developement happening in between. * almost all love interests in the game are horrible, with blackmail, forcing the PC into situations with only bad choices (that's why I think this was supposed to be a corruption game originally). There is one (1) love interest who is friendly at least, but even she is a student of the PC. * if you try to go for the few reasonable options (there is one or two), the game will be super short, because there is not a whole lot of content for them * I also feel that the game is still missing parts which were originally planned. In the first chapter a female stalker is introduced, later an exhibitionist lady also appears. Neither of these plot threads go anywhere. Recommended? In general, no. In my opinion a visual novel requires strong character writing, and this doesn't even have traces of it. If you are specifically looking for a corruption story, where the protagonist is blackmailed into doing things? Well, maybe, at a big discount, but consider the short playtime before buying.
