If you missed this one, try it out.
I don't know why it took me so long to get around to playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis but I'm glad I finally did. I've now experienced another great point 'n' click adventure developed by Lucasarts during the 1990s, one that happens to be a computer game based on a film franchise that doesn't suck and one that actually stood out from the rest of the adventure game crowd by offering multiple paths to victory. The game's music, voice acting, graphics and puzzles may be a bit dated for a modern audience unfamiliar to the genre but I still urge you to give it a go, especially if you're curious about 1990s adventure gaming or games based on the Indiana Jones franchise. If you're a point 'n' click adventure game veteran, you've probably already played it. However, if like me you never got around to trying out the game, do yourself a favour and play it now.

Best Game I ever bought
Bought this game the first time back in the 8th grade - MADE it work on a 2x CD ROM, Sound Blaster 2.0 (8-bit DAC), and I think it was still running on a 386. Lost the CD sometime in college, about 6 years later. This is a great game, especially if you like the point and click adventures. One of the best point-and-click interfaces I have playes as well. Lots of tricky puzzles. Heimdall and George the Llama (Lama? Dromidary?)... ...Heimdall and George the Camel are still my favorite characters. This game is a beacon for all wayward Atlanteans... ...I think? :-)

Classic, nostalgia aside
This was one of my favorite adventure games as a child and still stands up to the best Lucas Arts and Sierra adventure games. To keep it brief, it is worth the price on GOG. With that said, it is not a good as I remember. The story, the voice acting, and the music are still great. What I realized is that I have less patience for moon logic puzzles (only a few in this game compared to many LA titles) as an adult, especially when some of them are quite buggy, which I won't discuss here to avoid spoilers. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the game and played through all three paths - I was just more frustrated when I first played it as a kid.

Two thirds a masterpiece
The first two thirds of the game are a high water mark for LucasArts adventure games. Clever, varied, and much more re-playable than other games of the era due to the very different Fist, Wits and Team paths that make up the middle of the game. The finale in Atlantis is a real downer compared to the rest of the game though. Annoying puzzles and way too much wandering and back-tracking.
