Great game
I was nicely surprised. Game is running at resolution 1366x768, everything all right. I found no problems. Great work.

Love this game, some corrections needed.
The air strikes and orbital bombardments allowed by tank modules were originally set so that ONLY ONE ATTACK per tank with an installed module was allowed. Unlimited attacks make it nearly impossible even against a small force. Pressing CTRL+DELETE while a building is selected should delete it with an explosion. This shortcut is critically important tactically. This is an important tactic if your fleet isn't large enough to survive a direct assault or your economy can't produce a large fleet. If your ships are faster, (Produce only the larger, fast ships while he is slowed by his smaller units.) You can move around taking his colonies and selling his buildings just before he arrives to reclaim them. This keeps him away from your colonies AND gets you fast money. It cripples his economy. It still works but all the clicking makes it VERY difficult. The game was always hard even in standard difficulty. This version is almost impossible in many scenarios and easy mode is just too easy. This removes the fun. Hard mode was always nearly impossible and REQUIRED the above tricks. Aside from these annoyances, this game is still the classic game I loved. It is wonderful to have it properly archived. I own the original CD set and managed to hack it so I can install it on Win 10. I never did have the first game in the series. I also bought that here. I have no idea what differences exist in your version. (if any) It does seem a difficult game with some catch-22 scenarios. That was typical of "Alliances" as well. It required strategic critical thinking to come up with tricks around some of those. Thank you for bringing these classics back to us! "Alliances" is almost there! Now i can chill into space again!
The Imperium Galactica series is the reason i've registered an account on GoG several years ago, just so i could add my vote on the wishlist section for both of them! Today my life feels a lot more complete! :D This game is beautiful, it has a nice little story ark (i only remember the Terran scenario, though) and has great musics! It's very relaxing and can be played at any rhythm. It's not so different than Imperium Galactica 1, but the graphical improvement, the 3D cutscenes and audio was breathtaking for its time. I remember i recorded the soundtrack manually just so i could chill to it whenever or wherever i wanted. Of course the gameplay has its flaws, the colony management is very simplistic, the ground battles are basics, the space battles as well, and the diplomacy is so rudimentary i don't bother much with it. Yet it still feels great to play! It is like opening a tabletop games box with various smaller average games but they make a greater fun as a whole. Ultimately, Imperium Galactica 2 (just like the 1st), is a nice experience to have. Back in the days, it made me realize that there are great game studios out there in the unknown. Thanks again, GoG, for making my nostalgia worth it.

A Unique Game that has yet to be matched
I can clearly remember 1999 Christmas. As a Hungarian and a subscriber of Hungarian GameStar, this masterpiece of Digital Reality was in the spotlight for months before release, and months after as well. I've got my copy pretty early, this was one of the few games I had as an original copy right from the store. :) Imperium Galactica 2 is unique. I tried to find a game that has the same atmosphere and same gameplay, but the closest it gets was another DR game released few years later, Haegemonia. The space genre is still - sadly - one of the least favourite scene of the developers all around the globe, but it was extremely popular back then (in general popculture as well, but space games peaked in the late 90's, think about Freespace 1-2...). IG2 gives a great balance between general management and real-time strategy. You have to manage your settlements individually and your empire as a whole. Research and develop new technologies, equip your ships with them, manage your fleet and ground forces, do diplomacy, espionage and other stuff. At it's release, these game mechanics and the AI was pretty neat, and hell, it's pretty damn difficult on harder levels. You need to plan carefully if you about to see next day. Graphics aged really well, and just by looking at them you can tell that it was jawdropping at the time of release. Music is really atmospheric, fits perfectly. I only know the Hungarian voice-over, which is very well done - a bit cheesy, but hey, it's the 90s :) Sound effects do the job. IG2 is a must have if you like management, exploration, strategy and the space scenery. Story is not a big deal, but there are random events (not too many though), and skirmish scenarios, so replay value is great. The 3 main factions give a different experience and there are others in the galaxy as well. IG2 is the flagship of the short and sad story of Hungarians developing AAA quality games. It's still one of the best of it's genre - a classic.

Timeless sci-fi strategy game
I just rediscovered this gem after revisiting the old DosBox game Reunion. It astounds me that this game was made in 1999!! It has all the elements of modern sci fi strategy games, and I'm pretty sure Galactic Civilization and even the later Civ games took a few notes from this classic. For its year made, the graphics are awe-inspiring, 3D, detailed, well-designed and the gameplay is complex and amazing. It does have a little bit of a learning curve. It's basically, to me, an empire-building game. The stronger your planets, the better off you are. An absolute must for anyone who loves strategy, is a fan of Civilization, Colonization, or the Gal Civ series. Beautifully made and I hope they make a sequel.
