Im great fan of HoMM series since 1998? 3rd part was playet years with friends. 4th part missed cz saw already 5. Now i decided to see what I missed. And honestly? this game dont worth even 1$. Ugly graphics, animations, style, battles(hello HoMM3). In all aspects this game really dissapointing when start compare it with 3rd or even 2nd part. also,its hard to believe, but this game still have many bugs. In that 5 minutes of playing I got 2 crushes and really dont want to play it again. Sorry, but its really ugly dissapointing game

I've played every version of HOMM up until this game. I have been absolutely addicted and in love with all three of the previous titles. HOMM4, however, is an absolute disaster right from the beginning and is down right unplayable. The first quest was actually fun and I thought that it was going to be just as fun as 3, if not even better. But the second quest which involves seeking an oracle almost made me quit playing the game altogether. I must have loaded my game 40 times trying to defeat the monsters guarding the Sword of the Gods and every time I was handily spanked. Tried waiting around for more monks and crusaders and the monsters guarding the Sword just grew in numbers right along with me. THERE WAS NO WAY TO WIN. I eventually just cheated in 20 black dragons and hurried through the terrible quests. The next couple of quests were more of the same, it was basically just 5 heroes running around together with no armies... And any time you get in a fight with long range monsters they would just target your hero that wasn't allowed to die (or you lose) and then it would be over. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY THIS GAME IS NOTHING LIKE HOMM 1-3. If you want to learn an entirely new system and game play then this is the one for you.

Heroes 1-3 are the best games ever. Heroes 4 is the WORST. The rest are below avg Avoid this like the plague. 3DO made 1-3 then ubisoft took over & ruined the series. 5-7 aren't crap but they're not good either. Get heroes 3 complete then search TOHEROES heroes 3 maps. Download the maps that look good to you. Here were some of the more popular : Desert war - Battle for honor - bound by strength - Hourglass - ETC The toheroes maps are a million times better than the maps the game comes with. Most important thing in game is getting capital or lvl 7 creature dwelling first week and those maps give you a chance to.
