Looked promising at start...
Story isn't bad, however gameplay is sluggish and restrictive. Check second game in series instead.

Not a RPG, Disrespects Player's Agency.
There's no real player agency when it comes to meaningful choices in Hard West. While the Narrator is addressing you directly. You do this, You do that. What he means is the character does this or that. A character you have no influence on other than helping it with fights. Seems like the devs wanted to be puppeteers and forgot they were making a video game. I could have forgiven them for wanting to be puppeteers, if they didn't write it like I was making the choices. The constant you do this, or that, infuriated me. No, I didn't do all these things. I would never do these things. They went far with the hard sell, and the experience was terrible for it.

Stay clear of it
I confess i had some expectations about this game: i didn't think it could be a masterpiece... but... i hoped i could find something good in it I doìn't like it: silly simple gameplay, absurd plot, with nonsense great end... I'm no big fan of jagged aliance and other tactical shoot-outs...but.. really ... soldiers at war (1998) and those old ufo/x-com series offer really much more sophisticated combats and more cunning challenges

I started game for the final time
Tried to play and even switched to easy to see if there was a difference with shooting percentages. I could not believe when I couldn't hit an opponent in front of me and I was uningured. 0% chance to hit with a loaded weapon???
