Will you once again don the mantle of the original Necromancer and prove his supremacy, or will you play as the new female up and comer, to show the world the true meaning of the word “power”? Each character has their own distinct weapons, spells, transformation abilities, as well as personality!
No matter your choice, the journey will be difficult and fraught with danger, taking you through stunning landscapes - an ancient castle, an arid desert wasteland, a picturesque village and a dreary cave, just to name a few - each brimming with untold threats! Wield enchanted weapons, cast powerful spells and destroy hordes of enemies, only to raise them as undead servants to aid you in battle, as any true Necromancer would!
Fan-favourite spells from the original game return - the Tornado Spell that hurls enemies into the air, the Ring of Ice that will encase them in frost, and the Unholy Hand Grenade to blast them into oblivion; but the new character also brings her own unique arsenal - a life-draining Dagger, a fireball-spewing Bracelet of Fire, and a Hell Grenade that splits into smaller grenades, over a huge area of effect.
As you grow stronger, you will gain the ability to transform into fearsome monsters with not just brutal attack abilities, but also special powers that help you to traverse and explore your surroundings – slithering through tight spots, breathing underwater, walking over lava or even flying!

Old school done right!
Pure old school FPS fun. I rarely buy games on release day, but I was waiting for this after playing the first game twice. The level design and gameplay are again top notch. Also really love the variety added by the second character and all the new weapons. TLDR: If you liked Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders, you will absolutely adore this game.

Fantastic ageless game, worth it!
This game is detailed, and never boring or even easy, after playing it you feel deep satisfaction. Catch is - you have to be already primed for this type of games - old-school like with modern twists but ageless aesthetics of eons gone by (think Quake-ish/Heretic mix made for modern widescreens and controls). The only issue I am having is a specific technical one since i am a stubborn Linux user (Debian/Ubuntu): while it was relatively easy to enable it on Debian I still haven't been able to work it up on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS - although I am certain it has to be possible. But that has nothing to do with quality of the game itself, hence 5 stars. Highly recommended.

A Most Interesting Experience
If you are familiar with games like Heretic, Hexen, Amid Evil, etc., you will be in very familiar territory. With a good weapon roster, and unique abilities between two characters, there is a unique balance of challenge and variety, both in enemies fought and tactics used. High fantasy FPS games focused on magic have been conceived before, but this manages to be its own unique concept, especially with the transformation spells and the hands of necromancy ability to resurrect dead enemies as allies. Good fun for anyone.

Un Heretic-Like de qualité !
Belle ambiance, gameplay simple à prendre en main mais efficace, les armes et ennemis sont funs, les maps ne sont pas très labyrinthiques comme dans certains jeux du genre et à la fois très jolies.

... del primo Hands of Necromancy. Assolutamente consigliato. Livelli vari e sapiente mix di arrmi e potenziamenti vari. Per tutti gli amanti di Doom e affini, assolutamente da giocare.
