Short and Sweet.

A good game made even better by the removal of a pointless achievement system that added nothing to the game. The achievement system the game had was of the variety of "kill x amount of this thing" or "collect x amount of this resource" all completely useless to your enjoyment of the game, the worst kind of achievements. Had the game the kind of achievements that had some use to the player like getting them to try new things, or hunt for secrets, or measure your progress, then it might have been a loss. I say good riddance to pointless achievement systems.

$$$ Efficient Title

It's not a particularly in depth game. Build a town with limited building options, focusing mainly on military. You can mine about 6ish tiles underground to find monsters and resources. Villagers appear sporadically with random traits/stats. Put them to work gathering resources. Farm food. Farm ores. Spend resources to acquire buildings and military units. After x amount of time the night comes. Monsters spill out of a castle at the opposite end of the map. Increasing in difficulty with each night. Defeat them in a tower defense style fashion. Rinse and repeat with occasional new events occurring. That's it. And for $4.50 that's a lot. Buy it. Lose an afternoon to it like I did. Well worth it.

Very Good!

I haven't made it past 7 days yet, but this is a good little tower defense/resource management game. I'm a bit shocked by how addictive I find it. Every night the zombie hoards get a bit tougher and you have to upgrade your defenses accordingly, plus the game will throw a few curve balls at you to keep you on your toes. It's got a good amount of challenge and strategy too! Do you use archers? Infantry? Mine gold? Silver? Upgrade the town? Just the defense towers? And who will you sacifice for rewards? I like this one. I didn't discover it until it was on sale in a promo, but I would have paid full price for this and felt it was worth it.

Fun ... But Also A Little Frustrating

I thought this game was rather enjoyable, but it's not without its flaws. The character movement can be very clunky when you click on their directions. Sometimes they'll go where you ask, and other times they'll do something completely different. I've also found that the save feature is basically broken. I started a game and saved it for the next day, only to find that the game didn't save anything at all. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. The enemies are also a bit spammy. It takes forever to build up your army, but once the enemies arrive they basically just roll right over you. It wouldn't be so bad if everything didn't take so long to build up (especially saving up to upgrade your town). That being said, it's still a pretty good game. It could use a bit more balancing, but it's still an enjoyable experience.
