Full Throttle Remastered

This was one of my favorite games when I was a kid, and this updated version provides it with every bit of justice that it truly deserves, short of a much needed direct sequel. This version was like a nostalgia trip through my childhood. If you have any experience with old school adventure titles, I'm sure that you'll be able to figure out the puzzles without any help. I beat the game at just 11 years old without any walkthroughs, you should be able to as well, just use your brain and whatever options you have available. You'll be fine, and have a great time doing so! This game is a must buy!

I played Full Throttle once years ago. It didn't make much of an impact on me. It didn't come close to dethroning Day of the Tentacle as my favourite LucasArts adventure game. Then I bought the Remastered version (mere weeks before it was given away for free), and what I found was a game full of flaws. Full Throttle is, in a word, crap. The art fantastic. The voice acting is mostly good. The puzzles are not great. The more interactive sequences, like the scrapyard crane puzzle, the motorbike sections, and the stadium, are awful. What this Full Throttle Remastered managed was to polish up a very rough gem in such a way that the flaws became much more apparent. To be fair, I felt the same about Day of the Tentacle Remastered. What could be forgiven as a game of its time, flaws and all, becomes jarringly anachronistic when it's clad in a more modern guise. In short, Full Throttle is a bad game. Full Throttle Remastered is a very pretty, lovingly-restored version of a very bad game. My nostalgia goggles were not strong enough to make the experience enjoyable.

I was pleased with the adventuring in this game, but once it got to the action sequences, the game was ruined for me.

Great (albeit short) game from LucasArts' golden era, great (faithful/respectful) remaster with welcomed extras (commentary track, in-game soundtrack, in-game concept art) Minus one star for short duration, and somewhat annoying mini-games (I think Tim had just begun to experiment with blending various game style together, but the end result is not on par with his later mixed-genre games)

Full throttle, another classic Lucas Arts point and click game that inspired many other games of it's genre, has the same type of humor that you expect and lots of tricky puzzle solving. The remastered version aliviates pretty much all the "pixel hunting" the original had and I was actually able to finish it without looking up walkthroughs. You can switch to the original version included if you prefer to play the way it was meant to played. Pros: + Great Visuals + Great soundtrack + Cheesy and Superb voiceacting + Clever puzzles + Lots of humor + Short and Sweet. Cons: - It's only a handfull of times, but the "timed puzzles" were really annoying. It was pretty much skipping cutscenes and trying everything I could before I had to skip the cutscenes again and repeat.
