Fallout 2

Being successor to Fallout 1, F2 expands the map, increases amount of quests, removes the time limit, expands possible play styles, ... and your highest character level cap. =) Game offers a lot of approaches. Will you outrun your enemies, be lucky enough not to meet them, join the group of mercs to deal with them or make your own party. Or do you prefer dealing with it personally like Chuck Norris? Or maybe you prefer big guns to armed fight and go Duke Nukem? Or there is Blake Stone in you, and electric gun is your best mate? Will you rob casinos, defeat "Mike Tyson" or become a drug junkie? Well, its up to you to save your tribal village or vanish in post-nuclear "Vegas"? Be sure to grab Fallout Restoration Project patch, however. There is even more out there! And here comes the fly in the ointment... and you ask yourself - where are the extras?!

This Version i bought at gog is the censored Version of this masterpiece.I have the uncensored Version in my privat library. This Version crashes when you visit the vertibird crashsite in Klamath if Gore level is too high. So the uncensored Version get 5 stars and this censored Version 1 star woud be too much. I forgot the children in Fallout 2 are in this Version invisible.

The ownership of the Fallout IP was originally owned by Interplay but a court case had caused transfer of this title to Betheseda, which is why there's another version (Interplay practically handed the game away away before they lost it) Anyway, Fallout 2 could be the pinnacle of the series, FPS games included. Improving on the first game for a more fleshed out experience in regards to multiple playstyles and roleplaying.

This game is incredible. Simply incredible. You need to play it immediately. Also, for those of you with Macs, I contacted the GOG team whether there was a Mac OS X version and was told: "Unfortunately when the publisher of the game changed, we lost the rights to distribute the MacOSX version. We might add them again if something changes, but I am unable to predict or promise anything right now." I wasn't given any further detail about what "further changes" would be required to get the Mac OS version back on the GOG store. Given that the game was reuploaded to GOG only a (relatively) short while ago, it might be worth waiting for GOG to regain those rights for us Mac users to be able to play this great classic, instead of using slightly more... nefarious... methods of playing the game. However I wouldn't count on GOG adding the Mac version anytime soon. It's an old game after all, and the Mac users make up a small percentage of their customers. But seriously, the depth of the story alone is incredible. A game far ahead of its time. If you can get past the tutorial with its accuracy shenanigans and slow levelling process during the early game, it quickly becomes very enjoyable. Get it. Play it. Love it.

for those of you confused that own it in the library but not on this page, you own the one that was from when Interplay owned the rights, this one is Bethesda. Amazing game, as everyone should know at this point.
