Clunky Turn based combat

I'm kind of over turn based combat - esp against an AI. You spend half the time watch the enemy run around and the adrenaline and excitement reachings a scorching zero. The story seemed ok. The ambience was alright - albeit a little soft and PC - ish. I enjoy a gritter game with real characters that have rough edges to them. Not soppy uni students larping as viking warriors. Hard to find a good Viking game out there, I guess. That said I only played an hour then ditched it, came back played for 10min and ditched it again, this time probably for good.

As promising as a lasting Viking empire

Love the concept, not the execution. Boring slogfest of inane fights adds up and takes away from the weak player interactions and lack of depth overall. Not a bad game. But not good either. It's like one of the .25c arcade games that you occassionally put a quarter in and then are reminded immediately why you play the other games a lot more. Nothing stands out at all. Character building is obtuse and boring. There were some cool little bits, like having to battle a couple of "giant" brothers who leave unique gear. Or finding a buried stash for someone then being ambused by thieves. Those are great story lines and I give them credit for the good parts. But would you watch a 4 hour movies because it has two good 1 minutes scenes?

meeeh, would love it to be better

The combat can grow tedious indeed. Still on the first island and only some 10ish hours in, but I doubt I will play much longer. The interface and gameflow are just not that great. Loved the predecessor, though

Worth of playing, interesting position

The game is good. Would be very good if some bugs would be fixed. I think its worth to spend time to play it. Story is interesting, our actions have big influence on story line, the fights are good and might be challanging which is very good. Right tactics is required, there is also injury system foe our party. The game is time limited most of the time so its nice, it puts some pression and you have think about every decision you make to make everything on time :)

Fantastic game!

Finished it once, sided with the Picts, now thinking playing again and conquer the whole of Anglia for myself. Fantastic music, fun combat, lots of skills to chose from, lots of choices to make. Everything you say, you do, have consequences. Same devs that made "Expeditions: Conquistador". This game is similar, but there's so much more to the game-play. If you played "Expeditions: Conquistador", you're going to love this game, is what I mean. Hope to see more games from this wonderful devs! <3 Absolutely recommend this game to everyone, especially medieval-maniacs!
