Empire Earth Gold Edition

This game is a dear favorite of mine, in part because I am a student of historical anthropology and warfare. As such, this game might as well have been made for me! Empire Earth is a strategy game somewhere between Warcraft and Civilization in structure, where you harvest resources (including hunting/gathering!) and attempt to build a civilization. The point of the game is either to win militarily or by constructing a set amount (typically 3) of "wonders" such as the library of Alexandria. What makes EE so epic in scope is the fact that you are constantly progressing through various "epochs" of development...so you might start with cavemen, and end with Napoleonic soldiers, or futuristic cyber men! This aspect of the game, particularly if you play through multiple epochs in one game, really illustrates the depth of the engine. The nuances of the game drastically change as you progress, as new technologies make older strategies and defenses obsolete. The first time I had to face aircraft was...interesting to say the least. Empire Earth is one of my favorite strategy titles of all time, and it sits right up top with Civilization and Total War in my opinion.

Pretty unique and interesting RTS. So many epoches and each has it's own units. I'll never forget bombing guys with clubs with helicopter, so much fun! Only one problem - it doesn't work on modern systems (I'm looking at you, windows 10). At least it doesn't work for me... :(

Like all the other reviews, this game is simply amazing and only it's sequel is on par (even then, plenty of people find EE1 superior). My only addition to other 5 star reviews is to get the Royal Champions mod/patch. It adds numerous types of randomly generated map styles, a few additional units, a few graphical improvements (nuke cloud), and resolution support for higher-res. Works on Win10 flawlessly.

J'avais acheter ce jeux en 2002 ou 2004 par là, d'ailleur j'ai toujours la cd et le manuel. Je l'ai poncé comme c'est pas, permis. seul défaut, les parties trop long en LAN. Beaucoup de choses à exploiter au niveau des civilisation etc. Je l'ai resté sous w10 ça fonctionne mal, faut lancer le jeux en mode compatible xpSp3 et je sais plus s'il y a un patch pour les nouvelle résolution, à voir du côté de la communauté.

Oui oui, il fonctionne sous win 10. J'ai un proc ryzen et une carte radeon r9 et le jeu tourne correctement. Ce n'est hélas pas le cas sous windows 8 (ou 8.1 d'ailleurs), injouable tout simplement! (et c'est assez triste d'ailleurs que gog ne propose pas un patch ou une version compatible) Et je vous conseille pas non plus les modificateurs de l'éxecutable non officiels que l'on trouve sur internet, j'ai choppé des virus avec ça! Pour parler du jeu, c'est tout simplement mon RTS préféré je crois. J'y ai passé dessus des nuits parfois!!! Et pourtant je suis plutôt raisonnable en général en terme de jeux et de temps passé dessus... Ce jeu a quelque chose de spécial, il dégage une atmosphère envoutante! Si vous arrivez à passer les graphismes quelque peu dépassés, vous ne le regretterez pas je pense! Quelques problèmes d'IA parfois quand on déplace nos personnages mais rien de bien méchant...
