Empire Earth Gold Edition

The base is an ambitious project that for most part is well done. My only complaints of the base games are the campaign mission vary too wildly in difficultly. From from super to easy to punishing hard. The only other complaint the is they recycle way too many assets. The expansion is rushed and easily done. The expansion civ powers range from useless to game breaking. The space in the space is re-textured ocean. Finally the expansion campaigns are easily done, glitch out. Such when I win the game doesn't register my victory. Otherwise this game is a must have for any historical RTS fan.

stands the test of time ...there is je ne sais quoi about this game ...a dev/studio needs to look into a re-release with updated game imho ..but still this game is the best out there right now

As a big fan of AoE and Civilization, this game was almost a dream come true back then. I also liked the campaigns a lot, they had a good presentation and interesting mission designs, however, I always thought the AI is cheating too hard in these and making the campaign needlessly difficult slogs. It was also a lot of fun to just play through the ages in skirmish :)

I played this as a child back in 2001. Was one of my favorites. The campain is pretty good and challenging even on easy. A big skirmish game can take hours even days to beat. The AI cheats by gathering resources much faster. Decent game for the price especially if a sell is on. Works good on my Win 10 PC.

If you like the RTS genre then this game is a must have! I have owned this game for years on Steam and purchased it again here on GOG so that I can actually download the game install files. The other reason for my post given it is now 2024 and the world has moved on from the version of Windows when this game was first released I noticed that there are still a coupe of reviews still showing up on the first page of reviews one from 2016 an another from 2014 simply stating that this game is not compatible on Win 10 and another on Win 8. This unfortunately many have been true when they posted but today it is not the case. I am currently writing this review on an Acer Aspire 3 laptop that is defiantly not a gaming power house. AMD Ryzen 5 7520U with Radeon Graphics running at 2.80 GHz with I think 16GBs of DDR5 ram, may be DDR 4? Regardless this is not a gaming laptop. It is running the latest Windows 11 and I just launched a game to see if it would actually run on this latest version of Windows. It launched and played flawlessly, however since it has been years since I have played this title and have forgotten a lot about the game I quickly got my ass kicked is short order. Since the RTS games have always been one of my favorite Genera"s this title has just moved up to the top of my play list. If I remember correctly this game if played on high difficulty mode is more than challenging to successfully complete. In my book this is a must have title.
