First impression only - quick review

QUICK REVIEW - ELEX Since this game just came out less than a days ago but I saw already has tons of cold & hot in the feedback / reviews, I decided to do my own quick review too. So, anyway this is ONLY (surprisingly) about the PC version. I dunno about the console versions but my short personal opinion & 1st impression about the PC version: just freaking EPIC! :) Thanks, Piranha Bytes & THQNordic to give us this solid RPG gem!^ ;) (I play currently the GOG version but just bought now on Steam, so I will be able to write a review there too.^^) Btw, looks nice, sound effects & music also great, the beginning of the story interesting & so on, I just really impressed. I think it's really a clear, true improvement since the GOTHIC games. No performance issue, I have solid 60FPS in Full HD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate & maxed out graphics. (My spec.: i7 2600k, 16GB RAM, SSD, GTX1060 6GB OC Edition) As a huge & good old fan of Gothic games, I'm really glad the guys just made this game! :) A little bit more detailed review coming later by me, now I must to go back to discover more from the world of ELEX. A bumpy ride

I love these open world third person games. ive played everything from Dungeon Lords to Arcania,but i have to say,ive never met such an unforgiving game as this.Even on the Easy difficulty (yeah,had to go there in the end) the game throws groups of enemies that kill you in seconds within the first ten minutes if you happen to walk into the wrong area. But despite the rough edges ,such as stilted animations that make combat a real chore, voice acting that runs from ok to awful (the main character sounds like a serial killer, and im sure Nathan Fillon from Firefly does one of the voices) and the usual bugs (floating characters, vanishing into the floor, ect) , its the world and story that have kept me playing for 25 hours so far. And ive barely dented the huge map. if you can forgive the hickups,and hopefully they will be addressed sooner rather than later, this is a huge world you can lose yourself in for weeks. And you get to fly around with a jetpack, whats not to like?

Fun!

Elex rocks! It's not for everyone, but if you like games like Gothic and Two Worlds and stuff, you should enjoy this. It's got its janky moments, but nothing too distracting. The vertical world design is fun, too-- you get a jetpack right off the bat. Also, willy-nilly exploration's usually rewarded by various treasures. And while the combat's a bit clunky and unbalanced, it works... pretty much...

Best RPG in years

Havent had this fun in a open world RPG since Fallout 3. Amazing game reeking with athmosphere and cool ideas.

Interesting game, worth a shot.

Took me 70h to completly beat it, I personally enjoyed it despite some unlogical consiquences. I would recommend to buy this at cheaper price tho (around 25 euros - 50% discount). Overall one of best virtual experiences I had in many years.
