Dungeon Keeper™ 2

Still love this game so much. It works as intended on Win10, as far as playing goes. The game will NOT save your progress, so anything you do in the campaign isn't saved and after exiting and rebooting you will have to start over. Savegames are also not saved, nor are highscores. Other than that, still having a lot of fun with this old but still very entertaining game

I finished playing the original Dungeon Keeper, but was unsure whether I should download the second one or not because of the negative compatibility reviews. Those are old. There are very slight compatibility problems now, as the serious problems have evidently been sorted out. The slight problems are not always there for me, but are just hiccups when starting the game up. If the hiccups persist I will just switch to safe mode and everything will run perfectly and smoothly. All the old problems that may have been there have been sorted. I'm running Windows 7 and also downloaded and installed all the items that could be installed from this download. So, everything works now. The game itself is absolutely awesome, by the way.

I stumbled across Dungeon Keeper 2 on sale, and my first impuse was "This game is WAY too old and so cheap, it probably is just overhyped by nostalgic gamers reliving their childhood". I was very wrong. This game is still one of my top favorite games of all time, and I do not see that changing anytime soon! This game had me LOLed with the movie clips, unique minions, and narrator commentary. The combination of dungeon building, managment, and battles including first person view and direct participation? AMAZING and way ahead of its time! The levels were a perfect combination of challenge and adapting, where one strategy does not work in every level so you are forced to think and be creative! What makes it stand out; This game has a uniqe style of balanced gameplay, somewhere between dungeon crawler, action, and management. I have played several games that have tried this approach of multi-genre with very little success. The graphics are a bit cartoony and definitely retro, but they just work so beautifully! The developers obviously put serious thought into the gaming experience, every 15 second video clip, new minion reveal, or narrator comment had laughing, smiling, or gasping at the audacity! If you love RPGs, Dungeon Crawlers, Simulation and/or Mangement Games, you need to give this game a shot!

Works without any issue on Windows 10 (version 1909) with AMD card. It seems that GOG fixed the issue with the possession spell that other comments mention. It took me about 28h to finish the campaign and 100% of it was pure fun. Now I am playing in "My Pet Dungeon" mode. Things that I like: 1. Sense of humor 2. Voice of the Mentor 3. Each campaign mission is different and interesting. However, some of them are really challenging, and I had to play them twice to complete. 4. Cutscenes after each mission 5. Graphics are fine for game from 1999 There are a few technical notes: 1. Game exists when you lock screen (Windows+L). You should save the game before you leave the computer for some time, and you have the Windows lock configured. 2. Game exists when GOG Galaxy shows update popup. You should go to Galaxy setting -> Notifications -> "Installing/updating status" and change "Desktop/overlay" to "Desktop only" 3. I have FHD screen. The game does not support resolutions for wide screens. I had to play on 1024x768 with black bars on left and right. There are some tutorials on the Internet describing how to change the resolution for wide screens, but they were not working for me.
