Dungeon Keeper™ 2

Worked on my Windows 7 and is working on Windows 8 that I have installed now! (albeit you have to run it at 640 resolution / Windows XP compatibility mode for it load and not lag on Win8).

I've been dying to play this game on the newer windows.. I have Windows 8 everything works except when I actually get into the gameplay it just lags like crazy. The lag has to be at least 5-6 seconds behind..

When this game was new it was virtually unplayable with bugs and crashes constantly interrupting game-play. Now however, with the gog update, it is actually playable. So far i have completed 5 missions, 2 pet dungeons and 2 skirmishes with only one crash during a map load and no crashes during gameplay. Amazing game, now if only it was 1080p(hint hint).

A real blast from the past. One of my fav games. I've spent many hours on it back in the day, and even more right now. So much fun, so addictive. Works grean on my win7 PC. For less than $3 it was a steal!

Gameplay wise this game seems solid. I've only played the first few missions of the campaign but overall the mechanics seem reasonably well thought out, and there's something about being the bad guy and defending your own dungeon that I find appealing. The game gives you a nice perspective. When heroes enter the dungeon they often say pretentious things like "we are the forces of good!" Its humorous because these are the things often said in games from the heroes perspective, and it makes you realise just how stupid these kind of things are, then you slaughter them and move onto bigger things. With that in mind though, I don't feel this game has aged particularly well. With 2d games they seem to retain their charm, but with this particular 3d game it really feels quite clunky, the menus seem to stutter about and in general the blocky visuals are unappealing. The designs themselves are good and the artistic vision they were going for is nice, however I feel it just hasn't retained its charm.
