Pure Awesomeness
I got the game working with a lot of tweaks. DK2 is as awesome as it used to be. GOG still could fix this game.

Good game
This game shares the spot tied with UFO: Aftershock for my first games ever I needed to get a video card to play properly. It was so awesome seeing how much faster I could get my PC to work by modifying and upgrading it that experience was the basis for me getting my PC tech license. Off to the game, different from the original in a lot of ways. My buddy actually prefers the original himself. I prefer this one, slightly higher resolution, better graphics and effects, and the gameplay suited me for what it is. You have to make a dungeon that can attract creatures you want and utilize them in an odd manner to win. You cannot control them like C&C or other plain RTS games, you have to coerce your creatures to do things for you. Keep them motivated and happy and they will gladly fight to the death for your dungeon. The dungeon construction is very detailed for when the game came out, and many games don't get to that level of construction detail today (apart from minecraft and other sandbox based games) and DK2 is a gem for it's time. Sadly my disc came with trailers for a DK3 that never came out because Bullfrog was shut down during development.

A Classic
The game is by far, one of the greatest RTS games ever made, if not THE greatest RTS game. Of course I'm not sure if you can call it that, the game blends so many elements, that you could say it defined its OWN genre. The design is brilliant, the graphics were good for it's time and still look decent today, and the humor is not to be missed. This game defined the phrase, "It's good to be bad!", because yes, yes it is. There is no major flaw in this game, and I really think that Bullfrog caught lightning in a bottle with this gem. While not all of their games lived up to their own expectations, let alone this game's, they had a decent run and gave us something that will surely live on in the hearts of many gamers. Dungeon Keeper 2's design is addictive, smooth, and entertaining. The sound effects are unique, and dynamic, and the character models each have their own personality. One of the few classics, that can actually be called, A Classic. If you're hesitant to buy this game, ask yourself two questions, 1. Do I want to play as the bad guy? 2. Do I want to play a game that is at times, very silly? If you answered yes to both, then buy it. These are the only two aspects of this game that I could think of as being potential problems to some gamers, that would deter them from buying them. Of course there is the graphics issue, but please, never judge a game by its graphics, especially NOT this one. The graphics are dated, but they hold up well. NOTE: If you wish play a game similar to Dungeon Keeper, but more modern, then check out Evil Genius. It's a game that is HEAVILY inspired by Dungeon Keeper, but does not follow its medieval theme. It's a great game as well, though not as exceptional as Dungeon Keeper 2, it does surpass pretty much all games that try to imitate DK/DK2's design.

i had the disk so im not sure if it will work with this but here i go. First right click the icon then click properties go into compatability and select windows 7 and check run as administrater. Run the game and go into options(the text will be visible but the background may not be)go into graphics and set the graphics to low(im not sure if you need to do that but i did it) and turn hardware acceleration off. go back to the main menu(the background will still be black)play one of the"my pet dungeon"s then(you should be able to play it),if you dont want to play the my pet dungeon, exit out(the background sould be visible if not close it and re-open it)and play the campain Good luck and remember: its good to be bad P.S im 12 and i love this game and the first one tweens forever

I didn't purchace it but..
I want to point out that the original crashed just as often as I'm reading in reviews, so it's probably not the port, but the bugs that were in the games originally. really. does no on remember how buggy it was. I couldn't even play it on xp. or on a slightly older computer then my xp, without it crashing. hope some day some one will put out an non buggy version. I will stay tooned on this
