Dapper Thoughts

This game is the silent assassin. I had my doubts about it If you are a fan of sims,like survival games,have a love for Tim Burton ish graphics,great humor, and detailed gameplay mechanics then look no further. This game has a lot going for it .It needs some tweaking here and there but is very fun regardless. The developer is adding tons of stuff (promised 6months post release updates),listens to feedback,and the game has a good deal of content in it.Comes with a sandbox mode and adventure mode.Game is also mod friendly. Still not convinced? Goto the devs website and try out the demo or watch some lets plays. I give it a 4 out of 5 only because it still needs balancing/tweaking and some more content (mobs mostly) to make it a tough survival experience.All in all lots of fun I have 167hrs clocked in so far (got it Nov 2012) pre-order beta from their site.

Good game

The game needs more depth, but since the designers are still adding stuff now and then, it will probably be quite full with stuff to do, to get or to defend against. The drawings makes the graphics less common and more interesting than the usual games that concentrate more on those than the actual game. Thumbs up! Buy this if you like Terraria or Minecraft.

Get it!

Honestly, I've never been very into survival games, but this one is great. My friend got it for me and I'm so glad he did! At first I thought it would be really repetitive but I've discovered new things every time I've played. I didn't even know I had to sleep the first time I played. It kind of reminds me of those alchemy games, where you put different things together to make new things. Also, I believe that once the multiplayer mod comes out, the price will be jacked up to 20, so I'd recommend getting it ASAP!

Yes!

I actually already own Don't Starve on Steam, but I saw it on GOG and I couldn't resist the option to have a non-DRM, non-self updating, no-nonsense copy. This is an excellent game, with great mechanics, very high customization, an excellent visual and audio style, and what has since become the famous Klei aesthetic. Huge maps, full of loot and dangers, *sometimes* warm and welcoming, full of friends and rainbows, *sometimes* biting cold, biting hunger and biting wolves as you sit near your respawn point, naked, because you didn't plan ahead and now you were saved from death only so you can die of cold, alone, afraid and insane. This game is a mix of flowers and sunshine and horror done well. After I played Don't Starve, I had anxiety in other games when left without light. In Terraria, I kept putting torches down before opening my inventory, because it felt like a bad idea to snuff the torch even for a second. No ugly monsters, no jump scares, none of the cheap stuff, just a sanity meter, explaining why your character is holding his head in a silent cry, and why hands from the darkness try to snuff out your only source of light. This ... this is a good game.
