Excellent cRPG
Yes cRPG not RPG.. I don't know why it gets put in the category. This is one of the best cRPG there is. It's extremely atmospheric and you are immersed in the world. It's clunky and old, but that is a minor distraction.

One of my favorite isometric RPGs
Very few games manage to interest me from the very beginning. Divine Divinity is a game where even the starting area/tutorial is fascinating and enjoyable. It only gets better from there. It has one of the more interactive game worlds I've ever experienced, with lots of books and notes to read, items that can be moved and NPCs that can have opinions and personalities. It's a fantastic game that should be more frequently mentioned as an equal to the likes of Ultima, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Baldur's Gate, etc.

A masterpiece from a mostly bygone era
"Mardaneus my poor old friend!". As soon as these sweet, sweet words were uttered by Lanilor the elf, they've become ingrained in my brain. And don't get me started on an in-game composition titled "A Wind of Aleroth", which will soothe your ears right at the starting point in the game. It put me into a melancholic trance-like state and everything was clear to me from then on.

Divine Divinity initially felt challenging, with its steep learning curve making the early stages tough to navigate. However, once I got the hang of it, the game truly opened up. The quirky humor and clever mechanics added a layer of charm that kept me hooked. The game’s world is rich with detail, and every discovery felt rewarding. Overall, Divine Divinity is a gem that’s worth the effort. And no, it's not a Diablo clone, this game has an actual story and every quest is hand crafted and I can't remember any fetch quests at all. I am about to start my second run and using dgVoodoo helps to play this game on modern systems with good lighting and zero issues!
