Description
Inspired by John Carpenter's "The Thing."


A helicopter crash left a group of explorers stranded near an Arctic base. As they try to find a way back, all they are doing is sinking deeper into a nightmare scenario. When they sleep, they attract a terrifying force that sucks the life out of their bodies, but the longer they battle exhaustion and stay awake, the less likely they are to survive...

As the survivors try to sleep just enough to stave off fatigue without dying, they slowly go mad and eventually reach the point where they can no longer trust their senses. In time, they can't even tell the difference between reality and a hallucination.


Guide the survivors through a randomly generated Arctic base, overcome the severe climate and fight the unfathomable!

A very good CO-OP for a few hours

The CO-OP is pretty nice because you have to communicate with the other person to get stuff done quickly. The stages get harder and harder as you are progressing. And we both enjoyed it so that's nice. I think it's worth it when the game is discounated. I have to say that game is a bit clunky - particularly when you are in the inventory and try to drop stuff or eat. Also, I still have not figured out a way to separate items. And several times we've run into bugs. Despite all this, the game is not too bad!

Bon jeu, qui peu devenir frustrant.

Le jeu donne une ambiance digne de "The Thing". Il y a très peu de musiques différentes, mais elles sont digne de celles de "Stranger Things" et rajoute beacoup à cette ambiance. Le jeu possède un gameplay très agréable. La difficulté est beaucoup trop grande, spécialement en mode coop (qui est calqué sur la difficulté maximale du mode solo). A deux joueurs, c'est la course aux ressources à chaque secondes, ce qui ne permet pas réellement de profiter du jeu. Cette seule raison me fait passer de 4,5 à 3 étoiles.

Never really gripped me

I have to admit that I'm new to this kind of games. Since it was cheap on sale I wanted to give it a shot. Of course my decision was influenced by me playing the old The Thing PC game from the early 2000's. But I was well aware that this is clearly settled in the tactical genre, with a rogue like twist. But overall there was such a lack of direction that it left me cold (no pun intended). The objectives are vague, not really engaging either. The characters have slightly different attributes but I wished one of them had some kind of special ability, like one is pretty good in cooking, one is a very good mechanic and needs less resources to repair devices and so on... It is also lacking in creating an eerie atmosphere, be it with music/sound design, settings or with the monsters. Overall I expected more interactive elements like one character can block the door while the other searches for loot, or the possibility to get out of a window. Since it's a rouge game there isn't a compelling story that sucks you in either. Like I said, I'm kinda new to this micro managing games and this one didn't really inspire me to delve deeper into the genre.
