Great game
Great game. One of the best ever made. However, do NOT buy it. ZA/UM was taken over by scammers and slimy pedos.

Interesting Take on Isometric RPG
I liked a lot of things about this game. It looked great, and the setting, storyline and way of interacting with the world via conversing with your stats felt really fresh and original. It really felt responsive to player choices as well - characters mentioned a LOT of things that seemed to be specific to my playthrough. However, the pacing kind of starts to fall apart in the second half and some of the dialogue feels pointlessly edgy.

Clearly Created with Love
Some games have a heart of gold (and compassion and love) beating inside them, and you leave the game somehow feeling...fulfilled in a spiritual way, and more connected to humanity even if the topics the game explored were not all sunshine and rainbows. This is one of those games. The 2nd half of the game starts to drags in comparison to the first half, especially when you have already discovered every location and have to tediously run back and forth across the map to finish quests. But the story stays strong and drives you to keep playing. The ending is somehow perfect.

An isometric point and click adventure
I want to get this out of the way first; this game is FULL of dialogue. If you love a point and click adventure game that is full of story and background, I say no more. Get it, The RPG element is interesting, your strong and weak points determine if you can or can't do/ask/question/wonder/talk or think to yourself about certain tasks/things as a detective. The world's atmosphere reminds me of a noir detective in a world full of conspiracies, there's a story to unfold and plenty of freedom to be a "good cop" or a "bad cop" or whatever you want to be, and a side to choose from (or don't choose at all).

Disco Elysium is a loveletter to failure. Your character is a mess of a drunk, riddled with problems from his past that haunt him in the most unexpected of ways and places, more than likely your character has a very high chance of failing most of the dialogue checks, but the game embraces it and encourages you to do it too, because failure isn't an end, it's just an uglier, more embarassing path, but one that might lead you to unique situations a success wouldn't. With its beautiful writing, the amazing art and a soundtrack that reaches the soul, this game brings narrative and reactivity into a level that i don't think we've ever had. Your choices matter, and the people of Martinaise will act accordingly to your amnisiac, psychothic and surprisingly competent bumbling while you try to find why is there a hanged man behind the hotel you're in and who killed him.
