Diablo + Hellfire

Diablo is one of the first action RPG games I think I ever played. I had no idea what it was about, but the more I played the more I became "addicted" to the fast paced action gameplay. The formula is really simple. You go around killing hordes of monsters in real-time through randomly generated dungeons and level up using a very simple stat system. Oh and you buy and sell various items that ultimately help you defeat tougher enemies. Is it worth the asking price? I would have to say yes, because you also get the very well done soundtrack by Matt Uelman which is utterly unique and fits the game well. It might not be as good as Its successor Diablo II however it is still fun and worth a play through to the end if you enjoy this genre of game.

Diablo a ete le premier hack and slash auquel j ai reussi a me frotter et a finir au mode le plus hard ! Bien sur au prise avec des hordes et des hordes de monstres a tuer et d heures perdues a monter en niveaux mes personnages , du moins avant l arrivee de Hellfire ! Hellfire destabilise l equilibre et les regles de diablo en incluant des nouveaux perso bien plus puissants de ceux d origines ! Et de plus la difficulte du jeu augmente aussi (bref ca reste quand meme un challenge!) , bien sur tuer les monstres a l encadrures des portes ne suffira plus a survivre maintenant ! bien sur il y a aussi des nouveaux (enfin , d anciens plutot!) secrets a decouvrir pour avoir de nouveaux objets puissants a posseder ... bref on le termine pour mieux le recommencer ! Au fait : commencer au niveaux hard si vous voulez monter tres rapidement un personnage mais attention au premier squelette que vous allez affronter (loool) tres bon vieux jeu , tres bien realise (pour l epoque !) merci blizzard et gog !

23 years since it came out... Back in the '90s I was an Amiga user, and I had it all - flippers, races, crazy platform games, strategies, fighting games... All that with great graphics, fantastic music and gameplay nonexistent in most of todays games. My colleagues who had PCs were looking at it all with envy, having only DOS games with clunky graphics and PC-Speaker beeps. Until 3 game series came out: Warcraft, HoM&M and Diablo. Along came better hardware - external GFX and MSX cards. After I bought my first PC, I've spent countless hours on all 3. It's been over 15 years since I played Diablo 1, so I hesitated much wether to buy it in 2019. Especially it was missing the expansion at that time. But I did, at a full price. Yes, it's an old game. Yes, I didn't like the Hellfire locations much (expansion came along as a free addition - great job!). Yes, I almost destroyed my mouse due to extreme amount of clicking. Yes, aiming sucks big time. Yes, inventory is way too small and I'm unable to highlight items (Hellfire brought a spell(!) to do so). Yesterday I've slain Diablo with my Rogue. I am now complete :) For me, it was well worth it. I don't care who remastered it. I'd buy it again, because it still has that feeling, atmosphere and awesome music. A time well spent - sincerely recommend.

Really love this game, the GoG version works fine.

While still undeniably fun it more than shows it's age with graphics that haven't held up too well and gameplay that moves at a slow pace, but there is still plenty to enjoy and saying this as someone whose only just played this for the first time, it's atmosphere is top notch and genuinely creepy. Well worth grabbing for both fans and newcomers looking to see how Diablo started out.
